A Castlevania game. With waggle!
I'm a pessimist. Most Wii games with waggle control shittily, and who in the world asked for a Castlevania fighting game, gee. I thought we ALL (and I mean it since I rarely capitalize) wanted a high res 2D console Castlevania.
Edit: Maria is lolirrific.

And by Castlevania, I assume you mean: NOT Metroidvania.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:I thought we ALL (and I mean it since I rarely capitalize) wanted a high res 2D console Castlevania.

Re: Castlevania Judgment
Sure, but I wouldn't complain if they manage to make a Castletroid that doesn't have screwed up balance. A Classictroid with some tweaks (new moves, sub weapons, etc) would be the ideal thing.Stormwatch wrote:And by Castlevania, I assume you mean: NOT Metroidvania.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:I thought we ALL (and I mean it since I rarely capitalize) wanted a high res 2D console Castlevania.

Do you realize what is this thread? Most likely not. You should in fact rename it.
"Castlevania Judgment" should be:
"Shocking news! After thousands of years, the existence of God has been proven!"
The proof of course is the divine punishment inflicted to everyone who was complaining about recycled sprites in 2D games.
The moral of the story:
be happy with what you get, because the something way worse will sooner or later hit you.
EDIT: we were extremely lucky already once, since the dreamcast abomination was canceled before release. Of course, such luck won't happen twice...

Nothing wrong with a few nice recycled sprites, but the amount of times they've been reused and the quantity in which they are reused. In PoR for example, the ratio of recycled sprites is like 70% something percent. Many of which have been reused before and are over 10 years old.

I'm pessimistic too. Konami fighting games in general have been rather unimpressive. I'm not a fan of the new designs either. The characters look like the cast of Death Note.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:clicky click

Some more snippets from the Nintendo Power article…
- Maria unlocked through DS to Wii connectivity
- special move gauge that builds up to a move that is much like a “final smash”
- some sort of WFC interaction
- character models by Takeshi Obata (Death Note)
- Quote from Igarashi “I guess some fans may worry about the game quality, but I am confident that we can achieve a very high-quality game. I think that fans…will see that it stays true to the Castlevania series. Even though this is a fighting game I can guarantee that it will be fun.”

Wow a castkevania fighting game. I have been waiting for this for 18 years! Too bad it's 3D. I hate 3D. And why on the Wii? The Wii has no fighting games at all, so the ps2 would have made more sense. I can;t imagine this will happen. It has cancelled written all over it. I will not buy a Wii for this game unless they switch to 2D, but this is the best franchise I can think of to get a fighting game. I'll be sure to follow the shoryuken threads. Looks like Tekken to me, blech.
Most likely it was an idea spurred by Nintendo fans and western press. As soon as the Wii was out there wasn't a single interview in which Iga wasn't questioned about a Wii Castlevania. Fans should die.Ganelon wrote:I wonder whose idea this was... for some reason, I don't think that IGA came up with this.
Oh the joy. the bright future of Castlevania: animated feature non animated in Japan; Hollywood flick; 3D Fighting game.
I'm going to slit my wrists.
Yeah, I remember that too. Then again, I remember people mentioning how cool an all-star CV dueling game would've been since Mega Man The Power Battle was released so it's not exactly a prophecy in terms of profundity.Ed Oscuro wrote:Actually, some dumbass over @ CV Dungeon Forums made a topic about a fighting game...I think...god it's been a while and I hope I'm wrong.
Counting the days until Iga sues Konami for unpaid bonuses and quits.
I still think a 2D CV fighter would be an excellent idea (assuming Konami outsources or lets the folks who developed SNES TMNT:TF handle it).
So quick to hate.... I'd rather have this then not have this. Me and friends have been guilty in having a desire for a CV fighter.
The pics graphically don't look bad to me. I'll pic this up for fun.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Well, at least the script will be solid, seeing that it's written by none other than Warren "Transmetropolitan" Ellis. And he even worked in a little gotefucking joke there somewhere. They don't give us any 2d console classicvanias anymore but at least we get some zoophilia humor, so it ain't all that bad....Turrican wrote:Oh the joy. the bright future of Castlevania: animated feature non animated in Japan...
Trek trough the Galaxy on silver wings and play football online.
maybe it's just you.... b/c you seem to either know everything or hate it. I swear this forum spends more time crying and hating then anything else sometimes.Strange, it's the other way around for me. I'd go as far as saying "It's just you".
I'd like a hi-res 2D Castlevania.
you've seen a couple of crappy scans... oh it sucks.
I seriously doubt it'll be an amazing work of video game art... but I've wanted a CV fighter for awhile so I'm getting one... It doesn't need to be amazingly deep for me to be happy either. So far as far as I can tell from those crappy scans the visuals aren't all that bad either... not AMAZING but they look to get the job done pretty well for the characters..
LOL.... oh I hate 3D yet I own a japanese PS3?!?
uhhh, CV has been lolirrific since symphony of the night.Maria is lolirrific.
I mean it's gothic with slut anime looking girls....... CV predates loli.
