Hey guys!
I remember playing Gunnail in MAME and thought it was a very challenging shooter from NMK where it has two stages that are like a chase after the boss style of level. Also, does Gunnail have sound in MAME or does it still lack sound and if it does have sound, could anyone give me an opinion on the sound in this game?
Thanks guys!

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.
Gunnail is one of those interesting games from the early to mid-nineties that have lots of bullets but not very intricate bullet patterns. It's like the evil twin of Batsugun (or should that be the good twin?).
Blinking bullets is very annoying though. I wonder if it's a way of having more sprites on screen than is otherwise possible? Also annoying is the way enemies will continue to shoot when near the bottom of the screen. I see some multipliers and timed stages so maybe there is a more elaborate score system than is usual for NMK? Graphically there's some nice bosses, larger enemies and use of color, with an overall look that are a bit hit and miss in the typical NMK style.
All in all this game has lots of heart. I wonder where the NMK guys went later. Anyone know?

The scoring system multiplies the value of enemies by the number of empty life containers on the bottom of the screen. Sometimes the multiplier on a boss will be 10x the number of empty life containers. I'm not sure what causes it, but it seems easy enough to trigger so I don't worry too much about it.

If shoe-sama were still here, he'd be making fun of me right now.
