Find the shmup! (music clue)

This is an old shmup I used to play fifteen years ago or so. The music was really simple and catchy. Got me wondering if anyone else on shmups ever played that game.

A nice way to find out is to make a little game. This is the first level music (streaming link)

B.T.W. This game is RARE I have searched a while for any information about it on the web and no luck. (I still have the game though)

So you have the game, but don't know it's name? Or are you just testing us?

It does sound familiar to me, but perhaps it's just the kind of game music I like rather than something I actually know... Sounds a little like a Megadrive tune...

I do know this! I'm listening now! What the hell is it? Amiga maybe?

yeah, I do know the name, I'm just wondering if anyone else knows about it.

Its a MS-DOS game. (that needed an awfull lot of extended memory which was a big PITA)

That snippet is awesome. Reminds me of the crackers demos back in the MS-Amiga days.

What PC game could it be? No way I'd be able to guess this one...all I know for the PC is Raptor and Major Stryker :(
