You need a nicovideo.jp account in order to view this video, though.
Edit: I'm a little dissapointed that it seems his final buttsecks attack is so easily avoided. Maybe it's because he has constant hypers from dying over and over, though.

Huh? The link I posted is working fine
Either way I'm uploading it on rapidshare, hold on (it's a .flv file, make sure your players can run that).

Wrong. He uses MANY continuesZeetherKID77 wrote:It's hell. The player uses a continue, that should be enough to say about it.

How to get a Nicovideo account
About 30 seconds into that video, I almost felt like I should be playing another genre.
Watching it again though, some of the attacks actually look manageable (read: shouldn't take too much effort/concentration).

Again, make sure your players can run .flv files.

Youtube version of the previously mentioned nicovideo link. It seems like the sound is messed up on the Youtube version though. Oh well.

The latest upload at B-Board features a run-through up to 2-4 on a single credit (the guy was just shy of breaking 7 billion). He credit feeds through the rest of 2-4 and 2-5 to fight against the TLB.

I wonder why half the TLB fight is cut from the vid? Looping patterns?

Not really. Apparently, hypers are the only way of actually surviving the onslaught, just because some of the patterns (like the last one) are realistically undodgeable otherwise, and require you to alternate between shooting and lasering to avoid getting hit. Keep in mind that, unlike all the earlier games, this Hibachi is invincible at all times when you are as well, including hyper activation period. The bullets, however, are being launched the entire time, so bombs are a pretty ineffective survival method, at least in regards to bullet-canceling. It's not the hypers that are "ruining" this TLB, but the inability to fight him otherwise. :\
Also, keep in mind that you don't get hypers too often, and the only way to get one without doing a good chain of hits is to launch several bombs in a row for bullet-cancel, which is not always possible for bomber type and never possible with power type.

yeah that's what I meant, and between 2 hypers activation players are probably just going to bomb like this guy is doing to build up hyper meter. When a hyper is activated, I'd say the pattern pretty much sucks. It's not that hard and you only have to alternate between laser and shot properly. Perhaps it's even not hard at all. So if I'm right here, the last pattern is all about getting killed instantly if you have no bombs or hyper left, doing nothing @point blank and bombing away to build up hyper bar if your hyper bar isn't full and you have bombs, or doing nearly nothing in the bottom of the screen if you have been able to activate a hyper. GREAT FUN !

I have played all the others except for Espgaluda 2 I think.
It just amazes me how Cave keeps on implementing the same major flaws into their games. Of course there are probably good reasons for doing this, it's probably the best way to make players addicted and keep them playing infinitely, but they could be making much more interesting games. So I just wish they did :(

Mushihimesama's TLB's last attack was realistically undodgeable and you didn't have any hypers there. Not really. I think the reason why they do this is to make it impossible for the player to clear the game unless they get to the TLB with a lot of lives in stock, meaning they got a nearly flawless run before that.
Many players who can do a big score and reach far will be tempted to also clear the game. They had to drop the insane scoring system back from the days of Dodonpachi because it would have annoyed the players over the years, plus it makes the games feel better every time and appeals to the casual players better. Now, to force them to keep playing forever until they get a perfect run, they just use this kind of TLB. They're just toying with players' addiction I think. It's the best way to exploit it and leech more coins from them. Because how can you accept to quit playing a game when you know you can reach so far and score so well ?

Wow, that last boss is absolutely ridiculous. I love it. I'd dare to say it's the hardest thing ever made by Cave, if not the hardest game ever. Yeah, you can use hypers and bombs to extend your life, but good luck getting that far with much of it in stock.
And about comparing it to the Mushihime-sama last boss.. All the superplays I saw of him were bombfests too. No-one actually managed to no-miss that last attack either.

This isn't a bad thing for arcade operators.PROMETHEUS wrote:I think the reason why they do this is to make it impossible for the player to clear the game unless they get to the TLB with a lot of lives in stock, meaning they got a nearly flawless run before that.

obviously, that's just the big "why" behind those stupid patterns I think.Twiddle wrote:This isn't a bad thing for arcade operators.PROMETHEUS wrote:I think the reason why they do this is to make it impossible for the player to clear the game unless they get to the TLB with a lot of lives in stock, meaning they got a nearly flawless run before that.

Played it today.
It took me a couple of seconds to realise what it was, despite the place being really busy, no one was on it or even paying it any attention.
Anyway, for a first playthrough I thought it was very unmemorable. The only thing that struck me about it was how much easier than Dai Ou Jou it was (I thought it was going to be harder for some reason). I got up to the third level boss on my first go.
That said, I played 'blind' (ie knowing nothing about the scoring system past the usual Pachi chaining), so I may go back next week and pop a couple more 100 yens in.

It seems all the difficulty is in the second wave on this one.henry dark wrote:Played it today.
