Sega Saturn shiro! (Sega tribute DVD)

Post by Diabollokus »

Bought a Sega tribute dvd from a mate for £4 and wow

Has about 5 hours of footage from all sega consoles.

saw all the segata san adverts burst out laughing at the idea of play sega saturn or get beaten up. final advert with the missile was great sendoff.

as for contents.

Masses of fmv for lunar, shenmue and panzer dragoon. bit 2 much shenmue but at least I saw shenmue 2 on the saturn scenes. adverts for games ranging from solo crisis to phantasy star 1 3 and 4, wachenroder looks good lot of football games.

shmup wise saw an advert for r-type on master system and giga wing 2 on dreamcast.

anyone else scene this dvd its possibly american and fan made but its been professionally done with interactive menus and panels.

Genesis does what nintendon't how they heck did they get away with that?

Funiest thing was the conversation between a sega dreamcast and ps2.
two real life models that spoke with the lids flappin and lights flashing hilarious stuff.

DC. hey ps2 me and the vmu were thinking how great you are.
ps2 really thanks
DC. yeah great for us to crap on.
ps2 argh!
dc. don't get emotional cos the only one your feel is frustration, your like trying to program for the saturn!
ps2 how dare you insult my emotion engine, top developers can get great games out of me.

ends up in a fight with them eventually killing each other with only the vmu surviving.

Man, that sounds cool :(

Any idea where to get more copies?
If it's fan made, would you be at all opposed to making a copy of it or ripping it and torrenting it? It sounds pretty fucking rad :(

(on a sidenote, for anyone who cares, I'm halfway through recordiing disc 2 of Panzer Dragoon Saga)

lets just say the disc I bought had no inlay or case but the label in pen on disc, it would be tricky copying a copy as the footage in some of the adds looks like grainy video capture.

very cool insight into the adverts over the last 15 years, the footage for the old master systems was kinda cool never knew about the pc version of the megadrive.

I'm sure someone on the forum has seen it before, I have a no questions asked relationship with my supplier so I wouldn't want to mail him about it.

I still don't think its an official product what with the dc ps2 fight so theres a good chance it can ripped from a websight somewhere.

As long as you didn't transcode it or recompress it, there'd be no loss in quality. Just need to make sure it's a DVD5 (single layer disc), and if so just break out ol' Nero to do a copy or rip an image. Torrent the bad boy up and share the love, if you like :)

recording panzer dragoon saga? like all 4 discs? that about 12 hours footage 8 at the least if you skip half the dam levels. you'll end up missing astral phantoms! and radgam!

Be cool though, like to hear what people say about the vengeance orbs!

I'm cutting out a lot of the redundant and minor stuff, like leveling ( for instance, i spent a half hour fighting sand mites last night because I had just stumbled on them for the first time and realized how much exp they yielded) and a lot of the exploring.

Actually, if you're froggy you can check out the first few videos right now (they're in reverse order *shrug* At least they're named properly. I think). More available here.

Which reminds me, I need to knock out a webpage frontend for that directory tonight.

recording PDS? great idea! Played that game back when it was new, but don´t have a Saturn anymore, and movies are the best way to experience RPGs anyway, so thanks a lot.
