You'll still be able to get it... you'll just have to jump through an unnecessary series of hoops in order to buy it.Motorherp wrote:Not for much longer.FIL wrote:Its on XBLA.

Crazy Taxi was one of them, but that's the only one from your list.doctorx0079 wrote:I'll take a wild guess and say the games you got are a whole bunch of sports games, Shenmue and Crazy Taxi. Maybe Sonic Adventure and Space Channel 5 if you're lucky.Momijitsuki wrote:Ha, I wish it was a Japanese one, but no. It's just a regular US DC.Fenrir wrote:I won't suggest you anything because this board is literally packed with DC shmup lists, but let me get it straight: you managed to snatch a jap DC with 12 jap games for $35 (aka NOTHING) or is it an US DC with loader disk and 12 crappy NTSC/UC sports/driving games, as with the usual collection of the typical joe dimwit across the road?
(ps. I'd keep them all btw. DC games are always a joy to look at)

This is why.maxmultiplier wrote:I just received my 2 copies from play-asia & I must say I'm extremely disappointed with this release.
All 3 games are ports of the inferior DC version which means Rajirugi & Chaos Field do not contain any of the exclusive modes that were found in the GC & PS2 version.
The Wii version of Rajirugi is missing Manpuku Mode, Okawari Mode, Score Attack/Practice Mode, Remix Soundtrack, Exclusive Eyecatches, & Internet Ranking.
The Wii version of Chaos Field is missing Arrange Mode, & Challenge Mode.
The Wii version of Karous has no new modes whatsoever.
The only mode that is new to this release is Sound Test. This mode allows you to listen to any track you want from any of the 3 games. The Rajirugi Remix Soundtrack doesn't seem to be included.
It doesn't make any sence why Milestone couldn't of added all of these modes & Internet Ranking to this collection when they were already in some of the previous releases. I feel cheated.![]()
I have almost no motivation to play this release. I'd rather stick to the GC version for the extra modes & remix music. They should of called this 'Milestone Bare-Bones Collection'. Waste of money if you ask me.

Three modern shmups for fifty dollars is not good enough for you? If they are accurate ports, I think that's a good deal.Elixir wrote:And it's one of the worst shmup compilations ever seen.Jockel wrote:since Karous Wii has already launched 2 month ago.
And it contains Radilgy and Chaos Field as bonus.
It doesn't really matter if they're exclusive titles or not. I'm pretty sure most shooters on the DC are arcade perfect.

Not good enough, given the evidence. There probably won't be any changes to the compilation's benefit while localising.malik11 wrote:Three modern shmups for fifty dollars is not good enough for you? If they are accurate ports, I think that's a good deal.
Cheaper options usually mean sacrificing quality. Reportedly this compilation is a disappointment, and I don't really enjoy playing any STG without a Saturn pad or Seimitsu stick. But hey, that's just me.
Since the OP just bought a Dreamcast, it would be wise to track down the DC versions.

The Milestone Shooters Collection is priced modestly enough to compensate for the lack of extras. Karous alone goes for $100 or more on the Dreamcast. If I really want the extra modes in Radilgy, I can buy the $40 copy on eBay.nimitz wrote:Seriously...
since when does extra features, remixed soundtrack, extra modes and such have to do with the value of a SHMUP port.
If the games are faithfull to the Dreamcast versions this is at least worth as much as the 3 DC games combined which is great even if you don't like Milestone shmups...
It seems to me that one person was upset with a lack of extras because he spent $100 (2 copies) on three games he already had. The disdain for this compilation has been parroted without any context.
Since the OP has a Dreamcast, he can just find some backup copies. Purchasing any Milestone game on the DC is only feeding the collector's wallet since they are all OOP. You don't buy a $35 Dreamcast to spend $100 on individual games...

is this for real? i own it and had no idea.Karous alone goes for $100 or more on the Dreamcast.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

The used copy isn't quite so ludicrously priced (although, VGI have a tendancy to be expensive to begin with).
