Wait, only 4 people on the leaderboards have a score over 100 mill. So only 4 people in the entire world have this achievement.
WR scores for RF2 are ranging from 110 - 125 million depending on what ship you use.

The fact that even AIVA-DGN (AKA Raiden Fighters 2) hasn't broken 100 mil would dampen my hopes of that achievement though
Yeah, this is by far the hardest 360 achievement out there.

I like the visuals myself. I just wish the would patch the game so it stops giving sound and freezing issues.

Ok, seriously, is this thing any good? Its $20 at my local Gamestop and I've been giving serious consideration to buying it.
That stick is awful what I've heard. On the other hand it has easily hackable pcb that is worth the 20$. There was some discussion about this stick at shoryuken.com

In some instances, it's better to go with the original arcade PCB iteration of Raiden Fighters SP1 cart...no known issues from the get-go with that particular setup. Of course, the "Real Time Clock + high score" back-up battery will eventually need to be replaced as that's one of the first things to expire on such an old RF1 mobo setup... ^_~

From a machine translator, it's probably just saying something about finding even more bugs, patches having to go through the usual MS approval bullshit, and the new GUI.

Not effectively, it *is* impossible. Even when successfully cleared without continuing, the achievement code doesn't activate at all.

That GUI doesn't look new to me. Can we get a proper translation please?

Hopefully they'll be taking the extra time to include proper filters for the online high score tables, as well as fixing the bugs. Not even being able to perform an automatic search for your own score, let alone anybody else's, is stupid.

Did they ever get around to locking out downloading demos from different regions? When I had my first 360 last year I had my own (PAL) account and US and Japanese ones so I could download region-specific content like Aegis Wing.

Also, likelihood of PAL release for any of these forthcoming shmup releases?

I've been playing this quite a lot recently. Try as I may, I haven't been able to experience a single glitch in this game. I've tried playing in 60fps, 54fps, TATE and YOKO, but all 3 games always run perfectly.

My JP X360 is a recent Falcon model with a BenQ dvd drive. For those getting glitches, do you have a BenQ drive or one of the other less-quality drives (Hitachi or Toshiba)? Maybe only the BenQ can read this game without having problems.

Which model did you get, EOJ? The new Arcade model? I ask just because I'm wondering if I too have one of these BenQ dvd drives.

@prof G: yeah, I got a new Arcade model a few weeks ago, manufactured in 2/2008. You can tell if you have a BenQ drive by looking at the photo comparison on this page:

I don't know what my model is. :(

I'm using 54 FPS (True), dot by dot resolution, yoko, and.. not sure at the moment. I can't be the only person if they made an announcement on their site, but.. when is the patch coming?

See the link in my post above yours to see what type of DVD drive you have. :)

I'm sure there's lots of people having trouble with the game, I'm just wondering if it's related to the type of DVD drive in your console. I have read of other games having DREs or in-game freezes on one model of DVD drive, but not on another. The BenQ drive seems to be the least prone to problems (it's also the quietest). The majority of consoles released since the introduction of the Falcon motherboard last Fall have a BenQ drive.

Why don't Play-Asia mention the superplay disc? Is it true that the superplay was for the first print only?

I got mine from Play-asia a few weeks ago and it came with the superplay DVD. They probably don't mention it because it's included inside the game's DVD case, not in an extra case.

Until Play-asia sells out, all of them should come with it. There probably won't be another print of this anyway, since it has sold so poorly (less than 4000 copies, from what I've read).

Their own fault. If it was region free it would have sold considerably better.

I'd focus less on the region thing and more on how so many people are having technical issues with it.

Not to mention the fact that it's a shmup in the year 2008.

Why? A patch is coming soon. And BTW I've had zero problems with it. Not a single glitch.

Which is rarely determined by the developer.

Also thinking this would have 'sold well' or even 'significantly better' if it were region free is bordering on insane delusion. What, it would have doubled in sales? and that's being generous. So what, wow, they would have almost sold 8k copies? That's still horrible.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

If it was a Wii port it would have sold 400 copies because Japanese Wii owners never, ever buy third party software

8000 copies is horrible? Wow... better not tell G.Rev that.

Yeah, that must be why that was all they initially pressed for their games and were thrilled when those sold out.

We're talking about 2D shooters. Rather, ports of 2D shooters that were already made for the arcade.
