Dangun was done tonight. 7 credits. Ship type B, roll, and the next to fastest speed.

Did I ever mention that I really suck? :D

Guwange was done tonight. 7 or 8 credits, I can't remember. Used the girl with the straight shot.

I really like this game, but I know I don't use the special power enough which can get frustrating because I'm not cancelling enough bullets. I always feel like, oh no, I'm going to be moving too slowly and thus the bullets will get me, but every time I use it, it's almost always a good thing.

Just gotta learn more strategy I guess.

onto progear tomorrow

Progear was done tonight. 5 credits, bolt/nail. embarassing really considering I've done this on 3 before. I screwed up the last boss so bad. Oh well. It's all in good fun.

Progear marks the middle ground between oldschool Cave and newschool cave...

No idea how many credits I use for DOJ tomorrow but I suspect it's not gonna be pretty :D

If you want it to look less ugly, tell us first how many credits you spent to reach stage 5, and then how many you spent on stage 5 itself. The difference will be HUGE.

Stage 3 and 4 usually fuck me up in DOJ. Stage 5 is a little harder, but not by much. The whole game has a very smooth difficulty curve, It's just that that curve is levitating about 1/2 mile above the ground...

A one point I could consistently 3 credit clear DOJ's 1st loop, with my 3rd credit starting on the final bosses final attack :(

I think Ibara is prob the hardest Cave game (aside from pink sweets maybe). Good luck lol.

Circle around the boss. The only way you will get hit is if she traps you with the random aimed shot, but you should be able to avoid it.
One type of shot is aimed, one is random (you can tell by the colors). I find this the easiest last attack of any cave game to be honest (except progear loop 1 endboss).

At the stage 5-1 boss you also want to circle around it. You will only have to watch the little trucks or shit that spawns.

I never had too much trouble with stage 4. Maybe it's because the patterns are so beautifully designed, it seems the enemies and bullets are dancing around you, but that also makes it predictable and easier to memorize after a few times.

I agree on stage 3 being hell though. lol

On my best run on DOJ so far, I no-missed stages 1 and 2, then lost three lives on stage 3 and no-missed 4... only to be massacred by 5 afterwards. lol

The second half of stage 3 is very tough. I've had to practice that section over and over again for a few days to survive it, but now I can no-miss it easily. I can't chain anything though.

Stage 4 can be easy or hard, depending on the rank. Stage 5 will crush you regardless of rank :)
ForceDevice wrote:(...)then lost three lives on stage 3 and no-missed 4
I'm sure the reason you're no-missing stage 4 is because you're dying too much on stage 3. The rank is decreasing a lot there.

Try to no-miss stage 3 and you'll see how awful things will turn out later.

One time I credit fed through Mushihimesama ultra.... I just wanted to see what the last boss looked like firsthand.

I lost count after 50 or so credits

I will never, ever, do that again :D

I thought so. I'll check it out when I have some time (though I haven't touched DOJ for months, so I'll need to take some time to remember everything again), but I hope it doesn't get THAT tough... being able to no-miss stage 4 is something I'm quite proud of, and I wouldn't like to find out it's because the game is going easy on me >_>

On the other hand, if I manage to no-miss 4 stages in a row I'll have something to brag about. :D

DOJ was done tonight. Ship type B shot.

5 credits to reach stage 5
7 credits to clear

Last boss really wasn't that bad.

Lot of fun though, I need to come back to this one more :)

Ouch...that indeed wasn't pretty :) But that's expected from DOJ, this game really destroys you.

You should try ESPGaluda next. Kakusei mode will make things easy for you until the 4th boss. After that it gets rough.

Hey, 7 credits isn't unusual for me for a Cave game :)

Galuda was of course next in the list chronologically. I can usually clear it in 4 or 5 but I'd like to get it down to 3

Galuda was done tonight.

6 credits. Used the one with the wide shot

Yes, I'm getting worse (braces self for the inevitable "because you're not focusing on one game" comments)

I really screwed up the first 4 stages of this game, but feel I redeemed myself when I no missed the first phase of the last boss (when it turns into a butterfly, when its wings are small, I didn't die at all until the wings grew. I thought I was shit out of luck when all my gems ran out and I didn't have any bomb burst, but I was totally in the zone when no bullets hit me :) awesome!)

Come on mushi tomorrow! Trying to decide to go with original or maniac. Maybe I'll do both? We'll see. I'm nearing the end of the marathon now.

Play on Ultra. :D

...

...no seriously, try both modes. I find them equally hard. Despite Original having fewer bullets, they're much faster and may surprise you quite a bit if you don't know where they're coming from.

I'd say maniac is the easiest cave 1CC if you ignore scoring and bomb intelligently through the game. Original is harder, but I'd imagine the rank resets when you continue, so I doubt it would be that much more of a challenge.

Ultra FTW

I thought Arrange was easier than Maniac in the PS2 version?

Though they both seemed fairly the same to me, except of course for that awful thing at the end of Arrange.

And I agree, just play Ultra :P It'll end in hilarity for sure :)

2nd boss is the worst of them.

Sorry for the huge break. I got busy with other stuff.

Mushi Maniac was done today.
M-shot.

7 credits. Almost 6 but I had to continue again right at the end of the last boss

Will try original next, then ibara, and then I'm never doing this again :)

No additional comments? :P

If you ever go on a Psikyo marathon, expect the results to be about the same as in your Mushi Original run. The bullet speeds are the same. lol

Comments on mushi original...

I considered it easier than maniac. And also the last boss is ain't no thang but a chicken wang. I think I "only" died twice. :D Compared to like 5 deaths usually for me on a cave last boss.

Psikyo, I love them but yeah, the bullets start to get tooo fast around level 5.

Ibara tonight, I'll also do an arrange run since I really like arrange better (more Cave, less Raizing). I wish there was a way to play it with unlimited credits :? I tried tweaking the difficulty settings for arcade mode but it still wasn't as good

Ibara

I can't even pretend to know how to play this game ...

:?

12 credits. :(

I was surprised though, the later stages, 5 and 6 weren't exponentially more difficult like Cave games, I guess it's because of the rank system and the fact that since I suck, my rank never got up.

Surprisingly, I no-miss no-bombed the level 3 boss, and also got all the way through level 6 on my 9th credit.

But yeah, I fucking suck. I wasn't used to bombs not screen clearing, so half of my deaths were probably flying right into a bullet right after I bombed, thinking they would all be gone but bullets at my side weren't gone....

Maybe I'll try this again at the end of the Raizing marathon.

Stay tuned for that & Psikyo :D
