Namco Classic 1 & 2 Help

I have a couple high score issues with my Namco Classic vol. 1 & 2. PCBs.

Vol. 1 does not save high scores, is this by design, or maybe do I have an issue with my board?

Vol. 2 only saves the top high score. I am guess this is by design, I bought the board used and I would like to clear out the old high scores.

Good info but Classic 1 isn't saving the high score data, any ideas on how to repair?

Can anyone confirm that Namco Classic vol 1 does indeed save high scores?
I called the shop where i bought my board from, they have 2 others and they said they don't save scores either. I am not sure I trust him a 100% I am thinking he just doesn't want to deal with an exchange...
