First Arcade Controller Purchase

You know, I completely forgot that I already have an arcade-style controller. All I need a SNES-to-USB adapter.

Now, those are not expensive. But the shipping costs more than the adapters. WTF?!

Is it because of import tariffs in your country? If so and it only applies to things you buy and not gifts maybe someone could order one and ship it to you as a gift, and then you could send them a gift of exactly what the adapter and shipping was... probably wouldn't end up being any cheaper though anyway since you'd have to pay for shipping twice.

Thanks, Ozy, that sounds worth the risk... now this is the controller I have, a Capcom Fighter Power Stick. How well do you folks think it fares, compared to one of those controllers made with actual arcade parts? I think it's very solid, but also light and slim, so it's comfortable on one's lap.

I'd say the parts used in that joystick would be of very poor quality compared to good arcade parts (Sanwa, Seimitsu). However if it works well and you enjoy using it then thats all that matters.

Amazing. Just found that a friend of mine has one of those badass home-built arcade sticks as well. I should go check it at his place next week.
