Wow, this is incredible; the game looks nice so far. How did Capcom get its 2D artists back? I really, really hope TVC isn't being developed by Arc System Works...
Anyway, Tatsunoko Fight on the PS was already a hugely fan-oriented fighter but only included the main fighting-oriented series so hopefully this game will expand upon that and include oddities like Speed Racer and the Time Bokan villains.

AFAIK there's only a single magazine scan (from the noted Famitsu announcement) available atm, look around a bit and you'll find it.Ozymandiaz1260 wrote:Will Casshan be in this? That would be amazing. Where can I go to see screens?
Also, IIRC Casshan has been confirmed - personally, of course, I'm with Ganelon in pulling for the Bokan villain trio to make an appearance, heh heh.

It's hard for me to tell from the scan whether KOFXII/Cave style transposed "sprites" are used or whether it's actually full 3D.
Anyway, Seth Killian (fighting gamer and Capcom employee) had this to say about TVC over at SRK:

So it seems anyone interested in the US will need to import it, whatever systems it might be eventually ported to.s-kill wrote: No plans for a US release right now because the character rights situations with the Tatsunoko brands in the US are very complicated. In Japan, one company owns all these character rights. Here, many, many different groups hold the rights to some characters in the game. This means a US release would require a deal with like 25 different groups, and the legal fees from the time/effort there alone would be staggering, even if all these groups were willing to do it for nothing.
I spent hours with this game the last time I was in R+D (a few weeks ago), and I have to say: it is totally rad.
best,
Seth

well im happy! it being 3d means they will be able to have a lot more characters in it. be interesting to see if it get US/EU release since a lot of the characters could have some troublesome issues over who owns what rights like most of these things.

From Majoria News - this one's coming to the Wii. The scan also shows what will undoubtedly go down in history as the second-best fighting game character ever (after Dan Hibiki, of course).
Two more scans here and here.

I can safely say this wont reach the west. The Anime is too japanese for the west to really feel it. its something worth importing though.

Wii? Well, that's a surprise. Considering the Wii's online capabilities are extremely limited with only a handful of games supported, the optimal choice would be the PS3 and 360. I just figured this would come out for them like SFIV is. I wonder if there's going to be any online rankings, player history, etc. Judging from Brawl.. probably not. Can't say that this is the most mature move on their part, given that the Wii doesn't have any worthwhile arcade sticks or controllers (of any kind), but I'm sure it's going to sell heaps.
Hopefully BlazBlue won't follow the same path.
Hopefully BlazBlue won't follow the same path.
Apparantly it's because it's developed on Wii-based arcade hardware - whereas BlazBlue isn't, and is also natively 720p so will probably (hopefully) be coming to a console that supports that resolution. Also, I could've sworn I saw a rumour a while back that BlazBlue would launch early 2009 as an exclusive downloadable title for PSN.
Well, names like Speed Racer, Gatchaman and even Casshern do ring a few bells in the US and across Europe. Hell, I even remember Gatchaman from my early childhood in communist PolandLordstar wrote:I can safely say this wont reach the west. And since when do you have to know the whole background of an anime character in order to enjoy a beat em up?
When it comes to beat em ups, Capcom has basically no competition at all on this platform, in both territories! Last but not least Capcom is not Cave, the let's-keep-it-ghetto-for-the fun-of-it attitude is not their style.
If there's a way to make money off this in the west, they will try.
I would get a Wii for this!
Edit: Damn, this looks good

Again from Majoria - release date is December 11th. Of course, this being the Wii, they had to toss a few minigames in there.
Isn't there a problem with a US release anyway, since rights to some of the characters (IE Gatchaman) are owned by different companies?
