Auto Power-up Shmup (for lazy men?)

No items are required for your main shot to increase power, it will gain the power as you shoot down the enemies or as time goes by etc.

Dangerous Seed (Arcade) sort of
Final Star Force (Arcade), what else?

EDF powers you up as you shoot enemies down as well...Mars Matrix might be included here if you're generous, though since score is the deciding factor you do need to collect score items to make it happen.

EDIT - There's also that one shmup where your weapon powers up just by mashing the fire button fast enough...forget its name off the top of my head.

Psyvariar doesn't require any pick up to increase firepower iirc - although hardly a shmup for lazy guys...

Haha... That would be Irem's Lethal Thunder. My left arm went stiff after about an hour session with it-- that game is intense.

Lethal Thunder and Ninja Commando, "The more you press the A button repeatedly, the more firepower you'll produce" type, these aren't what I'm looking for.

Not really the same, but mushihimesama doesn't power you down after a death and you can hardly miss collecting the power ups.
