Well, I'm here, at the Krönprinz Hotel. Gotta pick up a S-Bahn pass, but I've already gotten around the city a bit. Saw the ICC (conference centrum) and went inside briefly.

Comparisons to, say, New York, London, Amsterdam, etc.:

*Not ugly.
*Far less traffic (especially out here in the Western part of the city).
*Very few pharmacies open on Sunday (none along Prince Wilhelm as far as I walked it).
*No water...hard water in my hotel room, no water fountains anywhere, and I saw a soda machine in the ICC that wants 2 euros for half a liter of Coke. whu-

Anybody who wants to meet up, write something in this thread (or a PM lol).

well, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here.
I do expect some pics/stories about the pigeons on Alexanderplatz though.

Just say hi to them and give them my greetings. :P

Berlin is a beautiful town btw. I love it.

If you haven't already, visit Charlottenburg and the Berliner Dome.
High points of this wonderful city.

I love how many scars of war are still present. Shrapnel marks on statues. That church missing its spire.

Is that middle void where the wall was filled in yet? When I was there it was a forrest of cranes.

Along Checkpoint Charlie there are a few nasty looking sides of buildings to give it that old-time feel, but go down a block or so and everything's new.

By the way, I'm leaving for Bremen later today. Didn't really get to see as much of Berlin as I wanted (few of the attractions for one), but I liked what I saw 8)
