and they had a disk only of DoDonPachi DaiOuJou . I heard of DoDonPachi but never this game. Is this game worth checking out and the price was $40, is that a good price also?

It's worth checking out, but for a disc-only you shouldn't be paying that much.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Its DDP III so its a totally different game - It looks much shitter and is 10x harder.

Uhm, some people get some really weird ideas sometimes. Now DOJ looks shitter than DDP!? Come on. Be reasonable.

That's cool you have a local import store....all I got here is Lamestop and EB Lames. $40 for disc-copy import....sounds like he's gouging the price, but I don't not how much DDP:DDJ goes for usually. :?

Poor price for used and disc-only although there really isn't a full manual per se and the superplay DVD isn't the best.

You should probably try DP or DDP before going on to DOJ.

Well each to their own... I find the pallette on DOJ not to my taste.

its funny when people substitute lame for everything. reminds me of pirate jokes.

anyway, $40 is a lot for what you are getting. find a complete copy (mine was $40), buy it, and love it for its unrelenting difficulty.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Hm, yeah, 40 for a disc-only copy is a bit much...usually a complete copy goes for 55 and up (in my experience), but I managed to get mine for 45 shipped, so there are deals out there. I like the game though, but beware, as others have said, the thing is quite hard (though not unfair).

Count me in as another who don't find DDDOJ all that good-looking.

It's using pre-rendered sprites right? Maybe that's why, I just hate the fake-3D pre-rendered look.

DDP has some of the nicest, cleanest, 2D artwork I've seen. DOJ just doesn't look as good.

I agree with the pixel perfect look of Dodonpachi being a tad nicer. I think the atmosphere and feeling of DDPDOJ is cooler and more original however.

If you read that translated Cave interview that was recently done, you would fine out even the great ESPRade was pre-rendered with 3d models...including the character animations!
