Anyone know why the boxes (and prices) for these are completely different?:

Because one is R-Type III and the other is Super R-Type.

In my opinion,R Type 3 is the second best Episode,after "Delta"!
With RT3 you can`t go wrong!

I concur. I have the same you posted before the editing and for me it is up to par with LEO which is freakin good as well.

Yeah it's a great game and while we're here, also take an advice and avoid the GBA port like the plague.

Super R-Type is a neat little remake of R-Type II. R-Type III is something else entirely, and is generally regarded as one of the best.

Dang, I just picked that up, found it floating around in my local import / rare games shop. Haven't managed to put any time into it yet though. So what exactly is the problem with it?

i read somewhere that the company who did the "port" from snes to gba wernt given access to the original code and only had a copy of the game to play on the snes to base their port on.

no wonder it turned out a bit crap
