HBO: Flight of the Conchords

Post by undamned »

Has anybody seen this show?

I recognized one of the guys from "Eagle vs. Shark" while my friend was watching clips on YouTube last night. Some of the funniest music videos I've ever seen.

Me and my roomies watched all of the first season together last year. I love their manager, Murray ‘Gingerballs’ Hewitt, “...on your way to dick meeting?” Good stuff. Looking forward to the (half) second season.

I don't usually listen to music like theirs, but it's still entertaining without the visual. Plus they're just genuinely talented. Gets regular play on my headphones.

The 1st series was a bit too long at 12 or so episodes. Some of the jokes wore a little thin. Murray was pretty awesome though, and even the weaker episodes had a good few laughs. It's nice to have a genuinely funny US TV show to look forward to.

I've quite enjoyed what I've seen of the show so far. Apparently the guys are a household name in New Zealand. My girlfriend was talking to a Kiwi friend of hers about the show, and the response was 'oh yeah, I've had drinks with Germaine' ... needless to say, my GF was somewhat jealous as she thinks the Conchords are hot shit. I do agree that some of the jokes wear a bit thin after awhile, but overall the creativity level has been quite high.

Flight of the Conchords used to make great music. I haven't really heard much about them though, apart from that they came from NZ and made a movie called Eagle vs. Shark (which I haven't seen)

I love the Conchords! I have the first season DVD plus the album. Those guys are great.

They have a proper music video for Ladies of the World featured on Youtube.

I hate this show... they ramble on endlessly. i want Dexter back on with the new season please.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I like the show, but without the set up I think the music is subpar.

Yeah, undamned, if you like Flight of the Conchords-- which I too like-- then check out this movie. Pretty fun. It has only one of the guys from Flight of the Conchords.

I'm just giving you crap, dude ;) I enjoyed the movie. Wasn't any Napoleon Dynamite (which the marketing campaign made it seem like they were shooting for), but it was a fun watch. I actually saw it in the theatre for free 'cause it was a pre-screening. I felt kinda bad for the guy there that was hosting the screening 'cause he was there to talk to people about what they thought about the movie and it didn't look like anyone cared to tell him anything. I told him it was cute and smiled. I'm sure he took that to his higher-ups :D

Ha, that made me laugh. Not exactly a movie to have a deep discussion over. And not a Napolean Dynamite either.

Flight of the Conchords is different from Eagle vs. Shark-- more humorous, though some episodes are much better than others, so don't give up right away if you catch one that doesn't seem too good.
