The stages doesn't seem to be based around one or more central 'cores', which in my view are needed to make multi-directional scrollers work. Bosconian is the classic example - small, focused stages.
I think this game looks more like an Amerishmup than a Euroshmup.
Off topic: Is it just me or does a number of games on the WII have less detail than Gamecube games? I'm not really following the high-end games so I don't really know but it sure looks like it.

I guess I've made one of the only Canadashmups .. >_>sfried wrote:Yes. The ones made by Midway. I'll answer your question.
This game is terrible, it wasn't even worth the 30 megs of bandwidth it took to download it. To play, all you do is move your ship around the screen with the nunchuk's joystick and point and click with the wiimote in the direction you want to fire or drop a bomb. The first level is so boring, there's barely any enemies and they're all to easy to kill plus they pose little to no threat. A little later on in the game enemies start shooting you from off the screen (always bs) yet it just barely increases the level of difficulty.
If you're looking for a shoot 'em up to play on your Wii I'd recommend Star Soldier R (while it may only offer 2 and 5 minute timed runs, you'll thoroughly enjoy those few minutes every time you play) or any of the older Virtual Console titles.

I've also read, on IGN, that there's no score, which is pretty basic for a shmup.spongdangly wrote:I'll answer your question.
