Your thoughts on Deus Ex 2
Your thoughts on Deus Ex 2
Back in the day I played the original Deus Ex to death, and enjoyed every minute of it. As soon as I've heard of a sequel, I immediately bought a copy. But at the time my PC wasn't good enough to run it, so I played it for like 30 mins and put it back in the shelf.
Recently I thought about giving it a try, but I heard the sequel is nowhere as good as the original. So, what do you think of this game?

Don't you git uppity with me

Yeah, loved Stalker too...every (buggy) minute of it. If you're into games with an apocalyptic vibe and bring in some patience to get used to the game Stalker will reward you with a very unique atmospheric experience.
And the best thing is that it looks like the next one (Clear Sky) will be even better with a more streamlined gameplay.
The review on Eurogamer sums it up pretty well:
"For some people the odd rough brokenness of Stalker will frustrate and annoy. It isn't finely polished, and it's not Hollywood; this is more like an antidote to the Americanised way of doing things. It's a warped behemoth from the Ukraine, and one of the scariest games on the PC. Stalker will remind you of all kinds of prior games, and yet it will also defy your expectations. Like the mythological Chernobyl zone it is based upon, this game is a treacherous, darkly beautiful terrain. Not everyone is going to enjoy venturing into the zone, but some of those who do will find what they've been looking for."

Deus Ex: Invisible war is okay, play it for the story as the combat is relatively simple.
Not as good as the original but still its enjoyable. It is extremely open ended with many of your decisions affecting your allegiance to either 3 social factions. In turn there are multiple endings, also the story does tie in with the original and the fate of JC Denton is revealed. Philosophically some interesting post apocalytic concepts are explored such as genetic engineering and bio-modification, the illuminati and area 51 aspect is what forced me to beat the thing.
If your intent on playing it you could probably beat it under 8 hours as long as you upgrade to level 3 biomods and use the energy sword on robots + cameras to conserve ammo which is rather scarce, I had to restart early on from running out of ammo.

The lack of ammo is super annoying, especially as its pooled through all your weapons, why did they think that was a good idea? Unless it was to force you to use stealth.
Thats one of the many things I liked about the original Deus Ex, stealth was opinional in most cases so long as you had the right weapon skills.

I see. So I guess the game is actually enjoyable, and not the piece of crap I've been told before. But, is the game really that short? The original one can be played for months before you can finish it.
Also, can you get all the different endings at the end of the game, like in the original, or is there a specific point where the story branches in different paths (so, if I want to see all endings, I'd have to backtrack to this point)?
And by the way, I'm glad there's a 3rd faction you can join. Back when I played I only met the church faction, and I'd rather stay with the Tarsus guys (even though they're not honest with you) than joining a fanatical church.

Stop lying to this guy, Invisible War sucks and is a reason why a "MAN WOULDN'T THIS LOOK TOTALLY COOL LET'S PUT IT IN RIGHT NOW" sort of guy should not be heading a project.
