Oh man, topics like these are impossible for me, as I simply like too much stuff, and will prefer one thing over another depending on my mood...I can't really say I "concretely" like something better. Well, I can at least name a few of my personal favorite songs off the top of my head...doubt many have even heard of most of 'em though.

Stagnation (Genesis)
Springtime for Hitler (Mel Brooks)
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes (Crosby, Stills and Nash)
Move On (George Michael)
I'm an Ordinary Man (Lerner/Lowe)
Counting Out Time (Genesis)
Impromptu No. 4, Op. 66 - Fantasy (Chopin)
Symphony No. 9, 4th Movement - "Choral" (Beethoven)
In Taberna Quando Sumus (Orff)
Heisoku no Kakudai (End of Evangelion OST)

"t3h lam0rz," I know. :P

I 2nd the above Metallica quote - best song is "Creeping Death". And while Undone is not my fav, I have to say YAY!!!! Another fan of Failure!

My list is nowhere near complete (way too many good songs to list)

Tourniquet:
Incommensurate (from the album which is my avatar)
A Dog's Breakfast (from Psycho Surgery)
Besprinkled in Scarlet Horror (from Microscopic View of a Telescopic Realm)

Dream Theater: Voices (from Awake)

Pink Floyd: Time (from Dark Side of the Moon)

Voivod: Missing Sequences (from Nothingface)

Prong: No Question (from Cleansing)

Megadeth: Holy Wars...The Punishment Due (from Rust in Piece)

Anacrusis: Sound the Alarm (from Screams and Whispers)

Tonic: Casual Affair (from Lemon Parade)

Big Wreck: That Song (from In Loving Memory Of...)

Aleixa: Only Roses (from Disfigured)

This is a REALLY incomplete list...

The first Pixies song I ever heard and it still is one of my favorites. Great choice if I do say so myself. It would take me an eternity to come up with a comprehensive list of songs but if I did this track would be on there. Kudos to your Blood Brothers mention as well. Check out thier new record if you haven't already.

Parliament Funkadelic:

One Nation Under a Groove
Mothership Connection
Theme from the Black Hole
More, these are the top 3

Commando - The Ramones
Ain't No Fun - Snoop Dogg (quite serious) (ridiculously offensive but funny)
few by Jimi Hendrix
Work Song - Wes Montgomery (best guitar solo evar, imo)
Tons of shit by Led Zeppelin
Barbary Coast - Weather Report
Portrait of Tracy - Jaco Pastorius
Erotic City - George Clinton
A few songs from Sega Rally and Outrun
boss themes- from Thunderforce 5
Gigantic Fleet - Panzer Dragoon Orta
Debris - Radiant Silvergun
Faith, Butsutekkai, Recapture - Ikaruga
few songs from the Sonic games on Genesis (seriously)
Storm Eagle, Prologue stage - Megaman X
few songs from Battle Garegga
Stage 2, boss theme (fits the game well) - Dodonpachi
few songs from Warcraft 2
Various shit from Capcom games
Few each from Daioujou and Ketsui
few from Thunderforce 4
few from Panzer Dragoon series

Yes, video game music is ideal music imo  no lyrics, even P Funk's lyrics are sung with a melody to them to fit with the music so they're not irritating

Top song! I've got both their albums on almost constant rotation at the moment - 'Not even jail' is my own fave. Here are some of my others:

Sebadoh - 'too pure'

Black flag - 'nervous breakdown'

Dinosaur Jr - 'the wagon'

Love - 'Alone again or'

Neil Young - 'like a hurricane'

Nick Drake - 'when day is done'

Scott Walker - 'Two weeks since you've gone'

Guided by Voices - 'game of pricks'

Jesus Lizard - 'lady shoes'

Slint - 'good morning, captain'

The Smiths - 'hand in glove'

The walkmen - 'the rat'

The Ramones - 'sheena is a punk rocker'

The Pixies - 'Broken face'

I do like a bit o' ROCK N' ROLL!

Right here with you fellas, Creeping Death and it's respective album happen to be of my favorites.

As for others:

In Flames - Suburban Me
In Flames - Moonshield
Children of Bodom - Needled 24/7
The Mars Volta - Inertiatic ESP
The Mars Volta - Eritatarka
Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons (yes, all of it)
and pretty much anything at Happy Hardcore.

So yeah, I'm really selective in my music, so I only listen to a few bands.

London After Midnight - Revenge

its hilarious and i love it. in the booklet Sean (the lead guy) writes how the song is written in vulgar disgust of ignorance, intolerance and something else, and proceeds to write a goth cliche of a song that is humorously self-conscious.

lyrics reprinted here for your enjoyment.

Revenge
Written in vulgar disgust of ignorance, prejudice and jealousy:
Deep in this blackened void, the space that used to be my soul no ray of light no hope has shown there in the darkened cold. In time memories and pain will fade and disappear they must, but not until this mortal being has turned to scattered dust- You cannot judge what you don't understand take the blade from the child's hand all the petty lies and the jealous whores matter little and leave me bored- Repent, Remorse- Revenge- why don't you just crucify me, nail me to a cross and bite and scratch and make me scream if that will get you off- You say a fall from grace would suit me well, well you can crawl straight back to Hell, fear not to lie, it will seem a sharper hit nor to blaspheme it will pass for wit- Repent, Remorse, Revenge.
I have no sig whatsoever.
