Jaleco Pony Mark IV

Post by Lightforce »

Anyone have experience with this cab? I'm deciding between getting a Jaleco Pony Mark IV locally, or buying a Sega Astro City and having it shipped to me. Would the Pony make a good substitute for an Astro City?

I think you'd want to ask if the pony can be rotated to tate easily.
if no-one responds here, go to killercabs forum.
Good luck! pony IV is way more rare. that's for sure.
I bet the astro is probably better, but how much better?

Thanks for the tip D. I checked the killercabs forum and found someone who owns both the Jaleco Pony Mark IV, and a Sega Astro City. The ease of rotating the monitor on the M4 is essentially the same as the Astro. he seems to like both cabs equally.

Than it is probably up to you to either go with rarity or go with beauty.
I personally like the Astro better in terms of looks.
But I like Jaleco very much.
Tough call. I'd probably go with the Pony.
You'll get plenty of chances to buy an astro in the future. As for the Pony, not that much.
Since the pony is local, save yourself some trouble.
Mind me asking how much he is charging for it?
To estimate the value of a cab is always difficult and it depends on the state really. is the monitor still OK?

also bear in mind that 15K doesn't look that great on monitos above 25"...... if you are just looking at playing 15K shmups the Pony is probably a better choice.......although spares for an Astro may be more readily available......

Thanks for the opinions, i appreciate them. As for the looks of the pony, i agree, the astro looks a little more stylish. The seller is selling the cab and a dimahoo board for $700. The condition of the cab is supposed to be good. I'm definitely going to grab it. I'll let you know my impressions when i get it.
