I just got to hear about this title. This movie is going to rock!
Be warned before viewing, lots of nudity, cussing and blood is in the trailer.

I get sick of reading bullshit comments from people that have absolutely NOTHING to do with my film...black flag nc wrote:Dude, this is actually a remake. I watched the original Black Devil Doll From Hell a few years back. It was made in the early 80's. Same plot and apparently same puppet sex.
Same Plot? No, wrong. Not even close.
Black Devil Doll From Hell is one of the many inspirations for our film. It is not a remake or sequel. If anything it is a homage to BDDFH, and we are proud to say so. Yes, both dolls are Black, the titles are similar, and both films feature some sex, but thats the end of the similarities. The script, plot, story, dialog, characters in our film are original and do not have anything in common with Black Devil Doll From Hell. I think our trailer should make it pretty clear that our film is an entirely different beast than BDDFHIf you still think our film is a remake after watching the trailer you ARE an idiot.
I am going to write a book called "The Secretive Agent: A Simple Tale of the Near Future" and call everybody who thinks I'm ripping off Joseph Conrad an idiot
Nice combination of insecurity/blindness/total insanity you got going there, chief.
Anyway, uh yeah. I'm old enough that I can laugh at this, but man this woulda scarred me when I was little
Edit: It just occured to me that Mr. Lewis is playing out the part of his doll, except with less sex

Holy shit, dude. Movies about blacksploitation puppets fucking chicks with fake tits are SERIOUS BUSINESS. You are really making yourself look like a blowhard.Shawn Lewis wrote:I get sick of reading bullshit comments from people that have absolutely NOTHING to do with my film...black flag nc wrote:Dude, this is actually a remake. I'm happy to be the most exciting thing to happen on this board, glad it made your day...
I don't give a fuck what you think of the trailer or me. The point is you are talking about it, there is no such thing as bad publicity, especially for this kind of film.
I'm just pointing out that "black flag nc" was talking out of his ass.
For every loser that thinks the trailer is poop, dozens love it. In fact I found out about this shit board from people that post here and dig what we are doing.
Ed Oscuro, have you seen BDDFH? Doesn't sound like it. So according to your logic every zombie film released since Night Of The Living Dead is ripping off George Romero? Bullshit.

Not yet, but we're getting there...by the way, we're not talking about the trailer, we're talking about you. Mission not accomplished after all!Shawn Lewis wrote:I'm happy to be the most exciting thing to happen on this board, glad it made your day...

Hey, I heard some old lady in New Zealand criticized this movie. I'll wait while you book the plane ticket.I'm just pointing out that "black flag nc" was talking out of his ass.
Since you seem to be confused about the difference between "negative" and "misinformed in the way that riles up academics who wrote their thesis on blaxploitation," it seems that 100% of the people love the trailer. For every loser that thinks the trailer is poop, dozens love it.
No, but if you go any further acting out your fantasies I won't need to watch the film; it'll be the 9 o'clock news.Ed Oscuro, have you seen BDDFH? Doesn't sound like it.
You're titling your next movie "The Evening and Dusk of the Living Dead?"So according to your logic every zombie film released since Night Of The Living Dead is ripping off George Romero? Bullshit.
Really drumming up some positivity for the film there Shawn. Makes me want to run right out there and support you.
I watched the whole trailer and had no opinion either way, but based on your character I would do everything I could to discourage people from seeing your film, or anything else you do.

Shawn,
As the OP of this thread, how did you come about here?
Don't worry about these guys, this forum has been here 10 years already and it will last 50 more just because they like hiding, waiting to pounce on people like you. If you came here to fight, prepare for war.

That looks very much like playing shmups! We just fly silently between popcorn enemies to backstab the boss with a huge sharp bomb.neorichieb1971 wrote:they like hiding, waiting to pounce on people like you

I don't have time to go back and forth here, I got puppet porn to produce!
If I came off as a dick, and asshole, its partly because I am... Its amazing that you any of you watched the trailer and expected me to be a nice guy...
Have fun and buy the movie (or don't) when it hits dvd and blue ray in oct...
thanks.

Unlike Shawn, who scoures the internet like a predator, attempting to protect the integrity of his flick by attacking anyone who compares it to another film (both of which share 60% of the title) with reckless abandon.neorichieb1971 wrote:they like hiding, waiting to pounce on people like you.
srsly, we luv drama, plz to counter atk

Someone that posts here sent me a link, I don't scour the net for this shit, please...
And so what if my title is similar?
A few examples:
Night of the living dead
return of the living dead
flight of the living dead
City of the living dead
Shaun Of THe Dead
All Zombie films with similar titles not remakes.

And it was not COMPARED, he stated it was a remake. It isn't. And even if it was a remake, what the fuck difference does it make?

Will Black Devil Doll get a nationwide theaterical release?
For Shawn Lewis,
So when is this horror flick gonna be shown in U.S. movie theaters? Or is it going to be screened at those cool independant horror film fests like Shockerfest in Riverbank, CA?
I went to the Shockerfest '07 indy horror/sci-fi/animation festival and was impressed/blown away by some of the very imaginative and innovative horror genre short films & full-length feature films. One director said his film ended up running out of $$$ during filming and thus, his hybrid Chinese vampire/zombie horror flick ended up taking seven years to finally be completed -- it was shown in it's entirety at the Shockerfest '07 event. It had some cool John Woo inspired gunfights combined with Chinese zombies and plently of Kung-Fu fight scenes galore! Crazy "off the wall" shit but it was cool nevertheless! The director had some wise words to those wanting to make a horror film, "Be sure to have plently of $$$ to start & finish your film as it's very hard to keep on filming for a bit, run out money and repeat the same cycle over & over again". Smart advice from someone who's been there in the horror film business. Can't wait for Shockerfest '08...
Anyways, the horror film genre is mainly supported by the die-hard horror film fans...without them, it would cease to exist. It's always campy fun when such a much hyped up horror film gets a wide distribution across the U.S. these days and even more films shown during the usual month of October. Of course, most horror films end up being released directly to DVD/Blu-Ray instead to reach it's intended audience.
Of course, a bit of nudity goes hand-in-hand with the modern-day horror flick genre...just check out Rob Zombie's latest re-make of Halloween or his previous horror films.

Am I foul? Yes rip off is more accurate. Yes the title is similar and there is sex but the plot is not the same.black flag nc wrote:Wow Shawn, I come back to this thread and find a very foul new member.
Sorry to assume it's a remake. I suppose rip-off is more accurate. The title, plot, and wierd puppet sex? How was I not supposed to make the connection.

Ok guys, let's chill out please?
Shawn Willians, if your only interested here is to defend your film, you have already done it and you can leave now. It seems some people have some interest in your movie, so I personally won't mind if you stay here a little more to talk about the movie, as long as you don't offend anyone. But keep in mind if you have no interest in shmups you have no place here.
If you do want to join us and talk about shmups and stuff, please try to do it in a more moderate tone. And good luck with your film.
And let us all pray that Uwe Boll never shows up here.

Its Lewis not williams. My last two posts were not offense at all, did you read them? I was only responding to questions, relax, not here to cause problems.
