They're all good, but Contra 4 needed:

-differences in characters/more weapons.
-bosses with more attack routines.
-less SNES-ification, a Contra should not be so colorful

It's hard to want to play it with C/Super a few screens away.

awesome game.....

im hoping to beat it eventually.....but i tend to suck at cave games the second i satrt playing them properly..ie.) using the scoring mechanics and what not....

ive only in the last 6 months or so started to play games 'properly'.....i just used to play for survival, and generally just used the primary weapons....lol

I've owned Ibara since it came out on the PS2, but apparently never got around to playing Arrange mode. Uh...I guess I've been busy?

So yeah, lots of that today. Fun!

I've actually recently resolved to never play DOJ again because I will never be good at it.

Last time I went back to it I spent around 10 hours+ slogging away and improved my PB by 3 million.

EspGaludaII just arrived and went straight in the Egret 2.... only got about 20 mins playtime so far though.....

And Border Down ( Naomi ver ) just went into the Hori AWSD......only about 20 mins on that so far as well....

need to spend more time playing and less timer messing around with cabs.......

Not my night for this, though.

Stage 1 in Ultra wasnt being agreeable tonight AT ALL. I kept getting hit on the first boss, which I usually dont at all do. Usually I can no-bomb the first stage...... not tonight though, hah.

Ended up spending time practicing stage 5, where I actually did BETTER. Though I did keep getting hit on the midboss, usually that doesnt happen, dont even bomb the thing normally.

Bah.

Sometimes I guess I just dont have luck with this

if i could just dodge the stupid sweeping attack semi-consistently i'd be home free since the rest of the fight is cake, but i get up to it with a life or two and end up getting decimated

i'm the exact same way, stage 1 in ultra for me is honestly harder than stage 5 (other than the bosses that is

) but generally in stage 5 i seem to have a more of a grip on where patterns are going and where i need to be
