What games are on PS1 Jaleco Collection Vol. 1??...
I just heard about this compilation disc for the PS1. I did some Googling, but I couldn't find squat on what games are in this collection, and I'd be very interested in knowing.

I just edited the post; it's a PS1 compilation. Play Asia has it, but they don't say anywhere what games are on it.LoneSage wrote:Huh, first you say it's a PS1 comp then you say it's on the PS2.
Anyways, never heard of it, I can only imagine some NES games being on it.
Jaleco sucks, but they're so corny I give them props.

A quick little google search can work wonders man...
Anyway, according to NCSX, the games are: Argus, City Connection, Excellion, Field Combat, Formation Z, Ninja Jajamaru-Kun and Rod Land. They are the Famicom (NES) versions though and not Arcade ports.

"I've always wanted a thing called Tuna Sasimi!"
I've never found any Jalceo-developed game to be fun, but they have published some good games (Shadow of the Ninja and Shatterhand on NES, I think). To me, their games always seem like they were indie-developed; I just get no enjoyment out of them.TWITCHDOCTOR wrote:"Jaleco sucks".
Care to elaborate further there Ace?
But they are old-skool and playing most of their old games gives me the giggles now and then.

As tired as I get of constantly reminding people on this site of this, I DO Google, so there's no need for sarcasm.CecilMcW00t wrote:A quick little google search can work wonders man...

In any case, when I did Google, NCSX's website came up, but I couldn't locate the reference for this game in the link that Google had given me. I first heard of this compilation from Recap, and he gave me the same list of games.
I don't care for City Connection, but I'd get this disc just for Exerion and Formation Z alone; I love those games. The rest I'll just have to try out via emulation.

The gameplay itself does, but I find the voices and music in the game VERY annoying; to the extent that I'd recommend turning the sound off completely on your TV or monitor if you get this game.jp wrote:LoneSage wrote:I've never found any Jalceo-developed game to be fun, but they have published some good games (Shadow of the Ninja and Shatterhand on NES, I think). Maybe I never got that far in the game, but I just thought it had the WORST music I'd ever heard in a shmup. Whatever, it's still definately worth owning.jp wrote:dave4shmups wrote:The gameplay itself does, but I find the voices and music in the game VERY annoying; to the extent that I'd recommend turning the sound off completely on your TV or monitor if you get this game.jp wrote:

You think the sound in the first one is annoying, just try playing the PS1 sequel sometime...the characters say something EVERY SINGLE time they collect a freakin POINT ITEM! Gets old REALLY fast ("Po-iinto gett-o! Po-iinto appu! Po-iinto appu!"). And heck, even when you're entering your initials on the high score screen, as you're doing it one of the female VA's is shrieking nearly nonstop in the background...argh, gives me a headache just thinking about it!

Game Tengoku 2 kind of sucks... I don't like it...
The 1st one rocks though.
Shame about this compilation being for NES version. If it was for Arcade ports, I would thinking about giving it a go. Exerion rocks, and Rodland is awesome.
Ninja Kun, if it's the game I believe it is, it's also top-notch stuff. City Connection is enjoyable enough IMO. Argus is kinda boring, and I don't like Formation Z that much.....

Rodland isn't a bad game at all, in fact its one of my favourite single screen platformers.
Game Tengoku... I heard it was a bunch of ex Konami employee's who coded this game. I doubt very much that Jaleco had much to do with it since most of their games don't have nearly as much jazz as Tengoku.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
