Toaplan Shooting Battle 1 slow speed (searched)

Post by Rob79 »

Since I cant find anything on the search replated to this, I thought I'd ask.

I just bought Toaplan shooting Battle PS1 NTSC-J.

Im playing it on my modded PS2 Fat, and 2 out of 3 games play slow.Kyukyoku Tiger and Twin Cobra.

Any reason for this ?

Do I need to buy a Japanese PS1 Now ? :(

yes, it plays slower than normal on PS2. It's a quite well known issue, there's even a warning on the forum FAQ.

I'm sorry, a modded PSX or a Japanese PSX seem to be the only viable options (or maybe you could try emulation).

For this I just bought a PS1 on ebay $15 shipped.
Then ordered a PSX modchip from eurasia.nu $16 shipped so, I got 2 for $20

After all that I ended up winning a Twin Cobra PCB last night on ebay $45 shipped (with a Cabal and P.O.W.).

When it rains it pours.

I liked Robdot better. Rob79 seems so generic IRC-chat-room-ish.

I liked Robdot too!

Still, Rob79 is here, and that's good too.

Never seen this PSX comp before, but I'd quiet like to hunt it down. My interest is piqued!

It's very rare. And you need a PS1 to play it (modded or Japanese).

How rare is rare? Like, if you see it in a shop you better snap it up right away- rare?

Since I'm already selling some of my stuff and I do happen to have this game as well...if somebody wants to make me a good offer over PM I'd be willing to sell it. Good condition, etc.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

That's a really nice price. I too had to buy a Jap PS1 to play this compilation. Well worth it, imo. At some point I plan on getting a Twin Cobra PCB, but with the quality of this port I'm in no hurry.

Bingo. For everyone else, it's gone for $50 on our Trading Station before and $37 (no spinecard) on an open Ebay auction before. Average is a bit higher though and as with most uncommon games, you can still easily get one if you're willing to pay more.

No, like, it doesn't show up on ebay every week- rare. (Or even every month.)

I bought mine in Japan before people realized it had a low print run.

PS.
For 37 USD I'll buy as many copies as you can supply. In Japan used copies sell for 50-90 USD, depending on condition and completeness.
