I think the point is that the civil rights movement is generally considered to have been a left-wing phenomenon.

Well they are not going to give firearms as a free handout, that would be silly.

People with money are the rich folks, so that it be left wing or right wing they can get workarounds, if left wing is prominent they can employ cheap labors legally while getting themselves firearms illegally for protection and if it's right wing who is prominent they can get firearms for protection legally and smuggle some chineses on the side illegally for their cheap labor purpose.

But for middle class and especially low class citizens, left wing takes advantage of low class people as a mean for cheap labor while middle class gets fucked over as usual by having their rights taken away.

While with right wing, middle class and even low class to some extent can have rights who would only be for the privileged higher class if left wing would be prominent. In that case, having the right to defend yourself would not be something for only the ones who can afford workarounds, but for any law abiding citizens who can't/won't use workarounds to achieve means to carry out their rights of protection.
