Shameless request for help. Decided to grab hold of Absolute: Burning Infinity for the 360 the other day, given that I need to justify buying the console again. Figured that even though I can't read a word of any Japanese script, my familiarity with SRPGs in general would carry me through.

And it did, until about half an hour in, when I came stuck here:

There are in-game tutorial vids that explain all of the moves. The one that shows this section suggests that you have to press the A button next to this glowing yellow sphere in order to collect/activate it, but all that happens when I do that is this message pops up. And I'll be damned if I can see anything else to do - it's a complete dead end. So I'm presuming that I'm being told here what it is that I'm doing wrong.

Anybody help? I've got myself massively frustrated with it, wandering around pressing buttons on everything, trying to work out what I'm supposed to do.

The message says "you were not able to release the seal".

I would, if I knew how to. That yellow sphere, as far as I can tell, *is* the seal.

It's a bare bones port of a PS2 game, so yeah, the link with the Disgaea 3 laziness is accurate.

Okay, do either of these help? They're both from the demonstration vid in the game. The first is, I suspect, explaining what to do (I can see mention of the A button in there):

and is the second showing the message that I'd receive if I did it properly?

Bloody thing. Here was me, thinking it'd be a regular SRPG and I'd be able to work out the menu options based on previous experience, then when I get it, it turns out to include puzzles in the field sections.
