TOPICS, UNITE!

Yes, even though they're slightly different you should be able to organize them easily. The underscore and dash work wonders.

Too late can't delete this topic now. I just needed these pieces of info as I did not keep track of shmups until now, I need to start picking them up/downloading them that's why I needed those small lists. I think I am good with the retailed versions though, just those 4 games so far.

Rez HD isn't a shmup; it's an on-rails shooter like games in the Panzer Dragoon series.

As I understand things, Time Pilot is considered a shmup for purposes on this board (such as Top 25 voting and potential for High Score thread).

I can't recall, though, whether it fits with Ceph's working definition of a shmup, which is the best definition I've come across.

Also, theres that as-yet unnamed shmup Treasure are working on for XBLA - it was put on hold to concentrate on the Ikaruga port, but I don't know if it's been cancelled or what, haven't heard anything about it in ages.

Also the twin-stickers, if you include those in the genre. Certainly, Mutant Storm Empire includes scrolling sections in with its static, arena-based areas. Assault Heroes is made up of scrolling levels, too.

Oh, and you've missed out Galaga.

First off, thats not supposed to be an XBLA title. Thats going to be a retail release.

Second, they put it on hold while they ported Ikaruga to XBLA. Now that they are done, they can get back to working on something new (thankfully).
