Has anyone/does anyone play this game? just need some hints on how to defeat the "Revenge Shark" boss on stage D (i think). Doesnt seem to die, and i sometimes die without anything looking like it has hit me!!?? dont know if it has anything with me playing it on a supergrafx/scd combo rather than white pce- may not be 100% compatible remember altered beast cd?? or am i just being paranoid - is it like this on everyones system? help??

Oh, i am over whelmed with your responses, anyhoos, i have now managed to defeat this evil creature, and have reached end of stage K "EARTH" - this game is really good by the way, one of best i have played on PCE - comes h recommended to all but it is quite rare i think????

Great! Perhaps you could post how you did it in the strategy topic you started. :)

Just so this topic isn't a useless duplicate I'll ask: what are the differences between the PCE-CD version and the other Darius II versions floating about? I don't recall there being a "Revenge Shark" in the arcade/Saturn versions...

PCE Darius II is completely different than arcade Darius II (Sagaia). It wasn't even made by Taito. NEC Avenue just lisenced the name and concept (fishy shmup), and the rest they did on their own. I hear the game is really good, and it's on my to-get list.

I wouldn't say it is COMPLETELY different to the arcade, it is like a 'Super' version, which was common among arcade conversions released in early 90's - remember Super Ghouls n Ghosts on the SFC?
It is like a re-arranged version, with different bosses - some of them are massive and cool - actually better than the bosses on the original Darius 2. Great music too!!
