Copying PS2 saves between memcard and USB

Post by nZero »

I've got a Matrix Infnity chipped V12. What software can I use to copy saves back and forth between the memory card and a USB thumbdrive? Hoping to avoid buying an Action Replay or other (completely worthless and bug-prone) cheat device again, just hoping someone has made a nice homebrew memcard manager or something that will do what I need.

Good luck getting a pen drive to work with a slimline. Check the official site for compatability

May be old, but the Independence memory card exploit has an FTP server which allows you to connect a PC via ethernet cable and FTP files into/out-of your memory cards (or HDD).

I'll check out Code Breaker v9.3 and see if I can get it to work with my slim and my Sandisk. I was hoping that someone had come up with some kind of homebrew thing, but I guess this is actually less hassle.

Which official site are you talking about?

I use keylaunch. Set a key to filebrowser, then launch it and copy stuff around. Works flawlessly with swap magic, but has to be reconfigured every time.

Google is kind of unhelpful here, do you have a link?

I'm having trouble finding it too. ULaunchELF looks like it'll do much the same job.

Here comes some noob ?s...
Ive got a PS2 slim modded from jonny5 for a great price. Thanks again J5!

So I checked the manual on line & it says nothing about the USB connection(s) in the front. How exactly can these be used?

I ask this here becuz I thought you would have been able to use these transfer memory...

with things like code breaker and action replay max you can use a usb drive to transfer saves on and off...

pretty much the only thing i know of that actually uses the USB is lightguns....

there is also an HDD loader that uses a USB connection but its compatibilty is low and its slow loading

Am I mistaken in thinking you can transfer PS/PS2 saves to a USB drive via the PS3? True, you'll need the PS Memory Card reader, but if you have access to a PS3, I'm pretty sure it can be done this way. Safe and official too.

I bought a tool called XPort 2 once upon a time, made by Blaze iirc. It includes a PS2 disc, PC software (Windows) and a special USB to USB data tranfer cable, which is used to connect your PS2 with your PC. With XPort 2 you can copy savegames from and to your PS2 memory card. It's not very fast and it sometimes crashes if you try to copy too many files at once, but it works; I've not bought another PS2 memcard since.
