Mario Kart DD on Gamecube LAN

Post by undamned »

Anyone ever played Mario Kart DD over a LAN connection? BBA's are so cheap now and I always thought it silly that you could only do 2 karts vs computer on the grand prix.

I was reading over here and the thought of 8 player Mario Kart LAN party sounds like a complete blast.

If you have a BBA and a copy of Phantasy Star Online (not the Plus version), you can actually play quite a few games (that weren't intended to be played online) with others online.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

I remember playing Mario Kart over Gamecube LAN, for some reason Baby Park ran incredibly fast, we had eight players and the action was so fast that nobody could keep up, it was amazing

One thing that sucks is you get randomly assigned your character, I guess it would be too much commotion to deal with who gets to be Yoshi over a LAN.

I used Warp-pipe too, for one on one it was excellent, as long as you found someone using the same ISP or very close to you.

Yes there is more than one ways to do it, the actual problem is it cost $$$ to buy the BB uint (GameCube LAN card), and GameCube got too few games to justify the investment.

This also means, it is not easy to found other people online to play with.

Keep playing NDS version of Mario Kart, I think that's the easiest to found opponents on line. (until the Wii one got out.)
