ENFP apparently. Although I'd rather rely on a real test than something I did online, think I took this in high school or in a psych course or something. A long time ago anyway, I sure don't remember what I got.

More like, the tendency to like games that have several layers of depth and require thorough analyzation. I find myself studying strategic guides, replays, and theoretizing on the methods of play more than actually playing.

Odd, I don't do that much.. unless I'm tired of the game.
I don't analyze playing shmups, its more like a spiritual concentration thing for me. studying a shmup doesn't make me play much better, so why should I?

Funny, because that's exactly what helps me play better. :D
I try to understand the scoring system in its entirety, then bust out a run that beats my previous best. If I can't beat my previous score for a long time, it basically means I have to study more tricks/strategies. Evidently, that works.

Actually, on that "shmups having several layers of depth" thing: most games can be just as deep, its just dependant on how you want to see the game and what to concentrate on.. So, I dont think thats a very valid argument.

Wait.. I think just typing that proves that I am an INTP by itself.

To be fair, not all shmups have many layers of depth in regards to gameplay, by far. I dislike playing most of them for that exact reason.

ESFP; The PERFORMER.

Lol, I know if i'd done this about 5 years ago I'd be completely introverted. Now I'm so happy with life. We did about this scale in A Level psychology and concluded it was bollocks (although still interesting), but it's nice to confirm I can compare myself with Elizibeth Taylor and Ronald Reagan.

The Myers-Briggs test is unreliable (as demonstrated even here), based on false dichotomies, and based on Jungian psychology, which is largely rejected by modern psychology. It should really stop being used in schools for career planning and such. That said, after taking one very quick test, I'm an INTJ or INTP.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Well, what modern science rejects tomorrow sciences often embrace.
Just look at Freud, he quickly fell out of favor because of "his" wild ideas and "inconclusive" studies but his theories have been gaining increased momentum and popularity these days.

I took that one just yet and got INTJ:
Your Type is INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %

Qualitative analysis of your type formula

You are:

* very expressed introvert
* distinctively expressed intuitive personality
* slightly expressed thinking personality
* moderately expressed judging personality
All errors are intentional but mistakes could have been made.

Really? Thinking about suitable jobs is a bad thing? It's not like they use tests to place kids in jobs, as funny and useful as that would be.
