FYI...
Rumors are that Dragon Blade & Sol Divide are showing up on a few EU release schedules from distributor "505 GameStreet".
This is the company that localized the EU release of XII Stag, which retained all the JP release features AFAIK (including Tate, high-score saving and 60hz). So chances are looking good for these Psikyo games.
Rumored to be released in EU under the budget priced Simply 20 range by September... (can anyone confirm that?)
They are also doing an english localization of the PS2 side-shooter Assault Suits Valken, interestingly

Sweet. They did XII Stag's localization right (TATE, high-score saving and 60hz like TF said) so I'm expecting them to continue in this manner. And Valken, too. Might have to pick that up.

this truely is fantastic. only the other day i decided that psikyo were probably my favourite developer and that i'd like to sample all of their products if possible. i was thinking i'd have to make a huge outlay for a lot of them until i find out that almost theentire back catalogue is coming out on budget release on ps2. i'm already happy after having home conversions of strikers and gunbird (damn the no score saves though.... and 50hz in strikers) as i'm new to shmups relatively and i'd never had chance to play these gems.
looks like shmups are going from strength to strength in the pal terretories, especially considering the fact that it's constantly lamented as a 'dead' genre.
now all we need is a brand new console developed shmup for the ps2 that can rival some of the best manics, like mars matrix and ddp. i'd be chuffed

Hopefully PSP's Sengoku Cannon release will make them consider Psikyo collection vol. 2 (Sengoku Aces & Blade). That way, we'd have in Europe all of them.
btw, Gheghs, I've heard terrible things about PS2 Valken

Yeah, I've read that, but some people still say it's a good game and port, so...if it's cheap, maybe 15 EUR or so, I'll pick it up.Turrican wrote: btw, Gheghs, I've heard terrible things about PS2 Valken![]()
