A couple of hardware questions, please...

Post by doodude »

!st: Could someone explain to me, in 'tard terms', how a joystick adapter works for a specific joystick.
Why does a PS2 to Saturn adapter work for a SS & not a DC, etc.
What would it take to make a DC to PS2 or SS or SNES etc adapter?
And go ahead, talk down to me. Its ok...

2nd: Can I use this item, YPbPr:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-120 ... 0-3cb.html

to connect my Saturn, PS2 & SNES to my TV thru' my AV ( W/Y/R ) connections on my VCR?

Id just like to clarify before I buy.
Truth, is in the Mind of the Beholder...

This article describes how a controller works:
http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/controlprimer2.htm
So you can get an idea what an adapter has to do. The article will probably help you more than my explanations ;)

The play-asia item is for a (VPbPr-)connection that uses 5 wires (2 audio, 3 video) you are refering to one with 3 (2 audio, 1 video) I guess.
Something like this should meet your requirements:
http://www.amazon.com/Multi-Input-Outpu ... 25&sr=8-10
However, I would spend more money - this looks a bit cheap. Just look for "AV selector".
