Well maybe I'm wrong then or perhaps i'm just impaciant, I had a NeoGeo CD back when it first came out, I had vague memories of atrocious load times, monkeys juggling...Ganelon wrote:Huh? On my CDZ, the only shooter with somewhat annoying load times is Pulstar; everything else loads at the beginning or in a few (<10) seconds) per stage, which I'd say is very playable... Fighters are a whole different story.HardcoreOtaku wrote: Personally I found the NeoGeo CD rendered most titles unplayable due to truly ridiculous load times, which admitedly are not as much a problem with shooters as Beat-em-ups. NeoGeo CDZ load times are better but IMO still leave the games unplayable.
Then a couple of years ago I thought I'd give a Neo-Geo CDZ a try, I bought one with with Pulstar, Metal Slug, Last Blade 2 & a few other Fighters, sold it pretty much immediately as in 2006 I wasn't prepared to do waiting times, I didn't want to wait for levels to load in a shooter, but it was far, far worse with fighters when I pulled off a Special it f8cking had to load, I thought f%ck this threw the pad down and stuck it on ebay.
Its just hard to justify when freinds were playing NEO Emus for free with zero loading times...
