Airmail safety

Post by UnscathedFlyingObject »

I don't want to pay 12 for EMS shipping Japanese sellers offer. Anyone lost stuff or got it broken with Airmail shipping?

Not once, and I must've ordered close to a hundred games and opted for airmail shipping. That said, if it's something really expensive (or if I'm feeling impatient) I use EMS just to be on the safe side.

No broken items here.

I did have to wait three weeks for Psyvariar 2 [DC] though.

Airmail here as well, but I'll probably use EMS if I'm buying a console or something.

Funny thing is, I've gotten stuff from Japan faster than from US...

The only warning about airmail is possible delays. Shit does get lost from time to time (but this is true of ALL MAIL), but the real concern is that while MOST packages arrive quickly, occasionally they get held up in customs. I run a record label and am shipping packages every day. In this business I always get e-mails asking why overseas packages haven't arrived yet. It should take a week, but sometimes it takes a month.

That is just the way it is with overseas.

Count me in as another guy who has never had problems with airmail (knock on wood.) I have recieved airmail packages from all over Asia as well as Europe and have never even experienced a substantial hold up. That being said I would probably opt for E.M.S. if I were expecting something that I shelled out alot of cash for.

I'm wondering--how much is pricey enough to warrant using EMS? An approximate would be more than enough. Thanks.

I had to fork over $60 for a Sega Saturn.......but it was worth it!

I think those people gouge on shipping over there because they don't like us buying their region videogames.

I've never had an airmail purchase lost either, though one odd bit was when I bought my Gradius Deluxe Pack from Super Laydock some months back...he sent it out but after several weeks it didn't show up, he even refunded my money. Then, out of nowhere, about 2 or 3 months after it was supposed to have arrived, the thing shows up at my door, still bearing the postmark from months ago, and it works fine once I open it up and pop it in. Really odd delay, no idea what the deal was with that...it DID get here though.

...and yes, I paid, Laydock the money again, heh.

Quoted for motherfucking truth. I bought something via Airmail by...Mitch whatshisnamei or whatever on Ebay (soukyugurentai and kingdom grand prix) and had them sent via airmail. Shit never arrived. douchebag doesn't seem to have an ebay account anymore, thank god.

On the other hand, we mailed some new year's cards to some friends in Thailand a while back and those never arrived there either.
