Actually undamned said that one post before yours... I said it a few posts ago in not so many words. The point isn't where the scanlines come from, the point is, they are there on the display the game was original intended for.NFG wrote:The artist didn't add scanlines and blur the image, the TV did.
What's my prize?
EDIT: Can't hotlink from your source of clue 2, FYI.

Scanlines make my eyes hurt because my eyes do not adjust well to looking at something that flashes something in your eye 60 times a second as opposed to a constant stream of light. Pixel doubling on an LCD is way easier on the eyes. I don't care if they make things look "pixelated" or whatever. If you removed the scanlines from a CRT display the result would look much closer to interpolated.

Sounds like you're referring to scanlines simulated over an interlaced image (like what happens when you run a 480i game through an XRGB2). I don't understand the "flashing".Scanlines make my eyes hurt because my eyes do not adjust well to looking at something that flashes something in your eye 60 times a second as opposed to a constant stream of light.

Still happens with 240p sources, like an SNES. You might not notice the flashing, but I do.GaijinPunch wrote:Sounds like you're referring to scanlines simulated over an interlaced image (like what happens when you run a 480i game through an XRGB2). My eyes can't handle the perfection that is blurry pixels along a low-resolution aperture grill with darkened lines on a CRT.

Composite (Not component) can be muxed to coax for under $25USD for old televisions. Nyko makes a $15USD VGA,Composite,YCbCr adapter (With cooling fans that cannot be turned off unfortunantly.) if you don't have the official cables.
My problem with the 360 hardware is the audio actually. Why do I have to use the toslink? You'd think if they wanted a 'media' system they'd have a simple 3.5mm headphone option for non-audiophiles...
