Interesting Flash STG

Post by seiatsu »

Someone linked me to this little flash stg and I thought some of you might get a kick out of it. It's called last canopy. while not great, it's a neat effort on behalf of the author. interesting art style too. With better control and some refinement, it might actually end up being a decent game. Entertaining for 5 minutes if nothing else:

It's fine, although it needs more aimed shots. Graphics are a bit rough.

I like the idea of absorbing enemies' weapons, which sits nicely somewhere between Gaiares and Tumiki Fighters.

yeah..it's kind of lame as is...but interesting as an original flash title. But..you don't really block them, you absorb and aquire them as options. later stages don't let you absorb them faster than they come so you won't be absorbing even close to all of them (as it takes a few secs to absorb them).

Definitely not a stellar game but like I mentioned, interesting if only fun for five minutes.

Fun while it lasts, but a little slow and pales in comparison to Takumi fighters...

Felt like I was playing an ancient vert-scroller where all the enemies have one attack pattern.

Also lol @ 20+ lives when you start playing.

Neat concept, poor execution imo.

Also lol at the ad for Windows cursors which is probabally loaded with spyware/shitware, etc.

Yeah - and somebody left some comment saying the difficulty was well balanced!

I had less than 15 lives (still too many) and the paterns were a bit different (occassionally). I must've changed the difficulty or something. I thought I went with defaullt though..who knows

and yes, of course it would / should pale in comparison to takumi fighters ;)

Wow - it got $4000 of the $10,000, apparently in cash, by taking two prizes.

Great to see a small shmup get recognised like that, but aren't there better indy shooters like that that could have won?

Still, well done Last Canopy...
