I used "less experienced" because i couldn't think of a better succint term for the opposite of the Top 25's "widely and deeply experienced". That's the meaning of less experienced here. From the Top 25:
So what constitutes "widely and deeply experienced"? That's impossible to truly quantify, but as a general guideline: voters should be familiar with nearly all (95+%) of the games on previous years' top 25 lists. Furthermore, they should be equally familiar with nearly as many (90+%) of the shmups on previous years' honorable mention lists. And, to the extent that other games voters have listed are available, would-be voters should be familiar with 50%-65+% of those games, as well.
And what constitutes "familiar"? Basically, having played it enough to understand the gameplay mechanisms that make it unique, and/or fun and/or historically important and/or any number of other things you might take as helping define "top."
Basically this poll is for the opposite of all that, people that don't fit the widely and deeply experienced guidelines.
Edit: so yeah, i probly should have been more explicit defining it, since some people didn't realize what was meant by "less experienced".

I love DDP, but I am a little puzzled as to why DOJ is in there TOO. They're pretty similar(obviously). I am also disappointed that Mushi is in the top 10 above Ra.De. and Guwange. ESP Galuda is different enough from DDP in my opinion to be listed. However, i've always wondered why so many liked it over Ra.De.. I liked the "piercing" weapons of it better, and the awesome Jun artwork, and the music was better too. Maybe it's the more modern graphics?
But really, so what? Anyways, at least all of Treasure's games are in the top 10, where they belong.
