Armored Core 4 Answer
Armored Core 4 Answer
Is anyone looking forward to this? I'm picking it up b/c I was sold after seeing the huge scale of the mobile fortresses.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
I never got into the Armored Core series, but
a.) From Software is awesome
b.) I was always pretty disappointed that Metal Wolf Chaos never got a release here
c.) I love Otogi 2 and their Tenchu games (so see point a. again)
If it were possible for this to get a PC release I'd get it for that. Consoles, not so much a player in that arena...but I'd at least put it on my "get in the future" list.

I'm having mixed feelings.
1. I was disappointed with AC4's bland graphics and the empty world. The gameplay is nothing special either.
2. Then I suddenly felt a touch of genius in the Desert Wolf mission, when Amazigh was talking in the radio. It wasn't just your average bad guy threats and stuff but actually intelligent and manipulating stuff, almost as if he was trying to recruit the player to their cause or something. I was amazed.. finally something targeted at adults? Wow.
3. Judging from the AC4A trailer the game graphics looks still bland and empty, but I was TOTALLY blown away by the unbelievable cut scenes! I don't think I've ever seen anything as impressive, anywhere. The style is perfect. Helicopter carrying a huge gun for the mecha.. explosions with dense smoke clouds.. beautiful mecha design.. massive constructions.. SOLD!

Before Pope John Paul died he decreed that Aliens were also GOD's creatures and we should treat them with respect.

the huge size and scale got me.... plus the speed has been greatly increased for 4. I've had it pre-ordered for awhile.... it'll be here this week sometime.

I loved AC4 personally. I thought the gameplay was really fun and that the dialogue in it was great (as was the music). Some of the missions were just awesome as well (sky diving into the base, fighting 3 mechs (especially on Hard when you're fighting them alone), the final boss fight(s), etc.).
When is Answer getting a US release? I'll definitely pick it up!!!

Of course, it's up to your interpretation, since of course wikipedia is such a cesspit of hatred and lies by some accounts...

Every AC game has so far. I don't see any reason to think Answer will be unlucky number 13.
I haven't played anywhere near all of them, but I particularly liked AC3 and it's immediate sequel Silent Line. You can carry over your mechs to SL, and with as much shit as that game throws at you you probably should.Turrican wrote:So, what are the highlights of the AC franchise, assuming someone here has played them ALL?
to the guys that played AC4, what control layout did you use? simple, reg a, or reg b?

Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
does anyone know if this game runs significantly better on the 360 than the ps3?
Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
I don't know myself, but when comparing multiplats, the X360 versions tend to be the ones with the smoothest framerate.

Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
The PS3 version has a glitch that makes the Arm Forts (ie: "boss") battles run horribly slow (we're talking like, one frame per second for several minutes) on the latest balance patches. Switching to an earlier balance patch ("revision") fixes this, but the x360 version doesn't have this issue at all.Immryr wrote:does anyone know if this game runs significantly better on the 360 than the ps3?
Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
looks like i'll be getting the 360 version then! thanks
Re: Armored Core 4 Answer
That's interesting Mr. Turd, how does one go about playing an earlier patch on a ps3?
I picked For Answer up at a garage sale last year, I should get back and finish it.
From Soft is love.

The "System" menu in FA lets you select which Regulation you want to play on. 1.20 and earlier is what works correctly.
