AFAIK (!) three times the same game. US and EU only got the 2nd part. US just as "Strikers 1945", europeans at least under the correct title. The one in the middle is the original japanese release, below the cheap rerelease.

Strikers 1945 (without II) was only released in Japan. Here's the cover (courtesy of Play-Asia)

The one you have is: Strikers 1945 II (don't pay attention to the cover, it says Strikers 1945 BUT IT'S A LIE)

The game you need therefore is:

Strikers 1945.

Exactly. You understood perfectly. And be grateful that you avoided the PS2 collection (which is worse in quality).

No major confusion here, they are just two different titles. game maker Psikyo made three Strikers sequels. Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945-2, Strikers 1999. the playstation-2 version is the best value for money as it contains two titles on one disc cover...or is it on one disc!

only slight worst quality, not unplayable worst quality. my pirate copy was fine until the data on the disc suddenly wiped out after a few months of play.

The superlite PS1 version of Strikers II is better than the Saturn port, but no idea how it compares with the PS2 port of I & II.
Fascination...

After posting a similar post I was reliably told the PS1 version of S1945II was better than the PS2 or Saturn version...

I had the (PAL) PS2 versions and the weird little box it displays the game in was awful. Might be different in NTSC

I found the PAL PS2 version to be a hackjob port of the PS1 version but not as good.
