Cuz with the console, you could conceivably play other games cheaper than buying their arcade boards. Also, space considerations.iatneH wrote:So you are willing to buy a several hundred dollars system for one game which may or may not be released in the future.Harlequin wrote:I will buy a Next Gen Console

Why not buy a several hundred dollars PCB now?
No update for Triggerheart on Xbox?

I too feel reluctant to buy one of those new consoles. Next-gen games seems to be all about eye candy and no fun. And each console seems to have advantages and disadvantages to consider, while back in the day you could pick any console without any worries...it was just a matter of preference.Rob wrote:Harlequin wrote: Next Generation sucks Balls.
Time flies, I still don't have a PS3.
DOJ and Ketsui alone isn't enough for me to buy a 360, but if more Cave ports come to it (ESPGaluda II, Death Smiles, Futari, etc), then I might get one. But still, I don't want to be worried how long it's going to keep working.

I think now it's still just a fairly simple matter of preference. They've all got things to criticise, and like any previous games machines they've all got small disadvantages, but in the end every one has some amazing games (and you only need some!). The many fanboyish arguments even hold true in some cases, but unless you're ridiculously particular or fussy each of them are a bloody good plaything to have. Having each one I couldn't honestly say I don't enjoy any of them, and if I just had one I'd be happy to have either...Ruldra wrote:I too feel reluctant to buy one of those new consoles. Yes, Viper Phase 1 works in MAME for me. It does say that the emulation is not 100% when you load it up.LGB wrote:Just recently (this may have been late 2007), mamedev managed to crack (or nearly crack anyway) the encryption around Raiden II/DX. Not sure on the details. I think Viper Phase 1 was cracked too.

Has anyone played Novastrike on the PSN yet? I've read it described as a cross between Time Pilot and Xevious. The only review I've read so far isn't good:

sometimes the emulator just detects a bad dump or somethin... ViperPhase has been "workin" on mame for quite awhile now (like 2 years or so), and the emulation of this one (and RF) has gotten even better recently.Ed Oscuro wrote:Be suspicious when you don't see that message.bitkid wrote:It does say that the emulation is not 100% when you load it up.
i'd like to see Ibara and Ketsui on that... but i already have ibara on the PS2, so Ketsui would do hehe.
