LCD TV's have different inputs in different regions. If your in the European zone all Tv's have RGB inputs via scart. So your connectivity is sorted.

If you live outside of Euro land, your Supergun has to be fitted with a transcoder which makes it at least twice as expensive as it would be without it.

Then you have the aspect ratio problem. Most LCD TV's are 16:9, all games AFAIK on Jamma format are 3:4 or 4:3, which makes your choice of LCD TV important. Then you have to worry about TATEing it as well.

It will work, depending on budget and the performance quality your expecting.

You might want an xrgb 2 or 2+ for those 15khz boards. Otherwise they will look nasty.

Oh crap now im more confused :D

Ok, so you guys are saying it depends on the LCD TV you have?

I am in the process of searching for a decent one, so
what exactly do i need to look out for?

My plan is to mount the LCD/TV on the wall and TATE it when
playing my STG's.

Another stupid question, can i use the supergun/controller for games with
my PS2?

Pics and/or Links would help :)

Cheers

Are you in the USA?

If so its best to get one made to your own specifications. There are a few builders here I believe.

To keep things in line with most peoples superguns, i'd recommend a neo geo spec'd supergun with a CPS2 kick harness. Then get somebody else here to mod you a Sanwa Agetec joystick. Its going to cost quite alot of money though.

This is mine - Image

Standard DB15 (same as neo geo) control ports. Just plug the game into the harness, joystick in to the supergun and switch on. Well, I have audio connections and video connections obviously.

The idea behind this is of course to have the 6 button setup like street fighter 2. The top 3 buttons provide your tools for 90+% of all Jamma Shmups and the kick harness goes to the bottom 3 buttons. I only have one agetec modded at the moment though. If I want to play 2 player on anything, I just plug a standard neo geo controller into port 2.

The Agetec uses convertor boxes built for me, so it can be used with Dreamcast, Saturn and playstations.

I wanted it neo geo spec for several reasons.

I can use a Neo Geo SCART lead for RGB, I can use the controllers built for the AES system and its all very simple to figure out.

Why do so many superguns use AES controller connectors, anyway? Is the AES's controllers' wiring particularly similar to that of JAMMA, or something like that?

back in the time - before Hori released it's HRAP for the PS - the NG AES sticks were about the best thing you could get for your homesetup and they don't use any IC to encrypt the signals. Every button and every direction has a single line running to the console which essentially makes it the perfect controller for any supergun setup.

Oh yeah, that sounds good and very easy to work with, too.
Thank you for the info, sir/madam.
