R-Type games from the playstation store

Post by Necronom »

After reading that the Playstation store can be now accessed via PC I browsed through it and noticed that the HongKong store is offering R-Types and R-Type Delta as downloads for HK$33 which is I think around €3 each.
Has anyone outside of HK (I live in Europe) tried this out already? Does this work with an European PSP? There are barely any descriptions on the site...

Edit: Well, just found this: "You can make purchases only from a designated SCE regional company which is determined by your country / area of residence. Your country / area of residence may be verified by your credit or debit card number and may be rejected if the information does not match." It MAY be verified?! What the fuck does that mean?

I downloaded the JPN version of both rtypes and rtype delta to a US ps3 and played them w/ no problems.

For payment, I used wirecard.com

I cant answer for sure that it will work on EU ps3 (i see no reason why not ) or psp, but it's little cost to find out.

Yeah, that sounds like there shouldn't be any problems then and the verification of country will probably be used only to force the people to buy from "their" store IF it's available there.

So how did you access this site on your PS3?

You can download the games from the Japanese PSN Store on the PS3. You have to create a Japanese PSN account to do this. I've done it, but I've yet to purchase some Japanese Playstation Network points to download the PSX classics.

Right now, I want get R-Types, R-Type Delta, Raiden, and Gunner's Heaven for my PS3 and PSP.

I too would like to setup and HK account for my psp, and I'd like to have some support as I don't have the slightest idea of what to do.

All I know is that the HK PSN store has amazing titles available for download!

Memory Stick: 15 USD.
PSP:169 USD.
Despertar Cementerio: 0 USD.
Loading the entire PS1 library I already own on my CFW PSP and knowing that Sony is not making any money out of me as payback for their dickery with Bleem, The DC, and Lik-Sang: F-ING PRICELESS.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Well, of course, but:

-I'm still hesitant to install CFW;

-I'm not especially angry towards Sony if it sells me something like Little Ralph for 2,7 €. The price is competitive, the game is good, and I didn't buy it previously on PSone.
