Hello
Anyone with good ideas on color combinations for the sticks and buttons on a candy cabinet (ie Egret II, Astro City). I just can't decided between all the different colors and what looks good. Well, the original setup is alright, but I'm planning on changing all parts on the panel, so I thougth I might change some colors as well...
Also, Seimitsu or Sanwa?
Cheers,
Jon

Note, if the panel already has Seimitsu, you will need a special mounting plate for Sanwa that fits Seimitsu panels. List of mounting plates here.NeoBahamut wrote: Also, Seimitsu or Sanwa?

The cool thing I noticed about Japanese arcades is that the parts are so much more colorful than the american counterparts. I always thought pink and green parts were really rad looking. Then again, you may find pink and green to be too common. In that case, maybe you should get some of those clear Seimitsu PS-14-KN buttons and LB-39 balltops to go with them.
As far as Sanwa vs. Seimitsu, I don't wanna give you the whole "it all depends on personal preference" crap. I made a custom stick with a Sanwa JLW and OBSN-30 buttons. The Sanwa stick feels really nice for fighting games. But for shmups, I find myself to be flying into bullets quite often. The buttons feel really nice and work just fine. I've never knowingly used a Seimitsu stick before, but people here seem to use them quite often so I would assume they work great. As for the buttons, it's probably not gonna make a difference.
Now if only I could figure out what color buttons I should use with my black Suzo Inductive Stick...

It's originally a Neo Geo layout, with 3 additional buttons added for 6 button games. If I'm putting a 6 button board in, I'll plug up the A button so it looks like this:

I could remove and plug all the extra buttons when I'm not playing Neo games, but that's kind of a hassle to re-do everything when I want to play a 6 button game. Most people add the additional buttons under the ABC buttons, but the layout really sucks for 6 button games that way.
