Great to meet you guys today and put some names to faces, if only forum names. Think that's the first time I've ever introduced myself as RGC to anyone. :P

Anyway, have fun with the rest of the meet. Wish I could have stayed longer, and done the bars/strip club thing, or whatever else you got up to. Hope you managed to source a TV for Icarus' MMP. Also, a big thanks to Mulletgeezer for his invaluble ESP2 pointers. It's an awesome game!

Definitely up for a mini-meet some time, if anyone else is up for it. :D

I lost count, more than 30 attendees.
Mr Hong Kong stayed 'til late, attacking Esp II with aggression and fury, getting the first extend before the Stage 1 Boss.
Mulletgeezer put up the highest score and distance on the day tho.

Plasmo ALLed Pink Sweet's Score Attack.

Tomorrow is Mills Day.

Phew! What a day!

After seven hours my brain was on its way out, but I had a great time meeting everyone: Kaede, it was awesome to learn a bit about progear from you (put up my highest score today), Mulletgeezer, you aren't allowed to be that good at Cave games, seriously!

Elbarto, Masamune, the one and only Del (a true Gent!), MHK, Alex, and the international contingent, the fantastic Spadgy (2P Progear doesn't work officially) and of course Icarus (thanks for all the tips, I had a great time chatting to you - next time I bring Garegga, you bring your stick!)

And anyone else whose handle or real name I've shamefully forgotten.

I'll be there again tomorrow for more fun, and to catch up with those who didn't make it today.

Muchi Muchi Pork ruled by the way, big up to Icarus for the donation, and to Rupert who sourced the ultimate 14" tate TV from the depths of CEX.

Good times!

Awesome day on Saturday. So nice to put names to faces.

Like Skykid I to lost most of my ability to think with my head after about 7 hours in a basement and plenty of credits.

Well above 20 people including guests and the like. I counted 25 when MMP was on - and what a game! And thanks to the CEX crew for the telly, and to Skykid's brother for dedicated scart cable wiggling...

Amazing to see Plasmo rip Muchi Ultra and Pink Sweets to pieces.

Learnt loads from Kaede on Progear and Muchi, and improved my high-score on Progear plenty, though Skykid still jumps forward a step as soon as I catch up with his best!

RCG - sorry I missed your calls... Think I was in a game when you called...

Everybody else. Great to meet you all. The whole event just reaffirmed my belief that Shmups.com is filled with a whole load of really friendly people that it's a pleasure to know.

I'm about to go back their, but can only stop by briefly today...

I learned so many real names, but still struggle to put each with it's forum name... Hello's to Herr Schatten, Icarus, RCG, DEL of course,

@Spadgy - You mean RGC bitch. ;)

(Sorry, been drinking)

Didn't get to meet you DEL, but was quite impressed with your Pink Sweets skills (but not that impressed with the game itself).

Hey thanks, Plasmo told me what I was doing wrong on the Stage 5 Boss afterwards. I forgot to hold the B button down during the Boss fight  . Oh well, next time...

In other news, Mills just called me, he's at the arcade now and is going to show a Strikers 2 looper in the Troc.

Just got back - fantastic weekend, thanks to all, it was brilliant to meet up.

Turn out Sunday wasn't so big in Casino (Spadge, where'd you go?), although Martin got some 3rd strike in - some good games there mate: Stop playing on Dreamcast pads, you're nuts!

Mills, wicked to meet you too - some insane 1cc 2 loop clear on Strikers, plus hentai snap. Top form! Masamune, get that picture up!

Mr Hong Kong, mysteriously secretive about his actual name, but a pleasure to meet nonetheless.

And of course Icarus - legend dude, thanks again for all the tips and the chats, we're currently downloading your superplays as we speak!

Laters all, until the next one.

Awesome meet. It was really nice to see all of you again, and, of course, meet some new guys. Big cheers to DEL, Icarus, Plasmo, elbarto, mulletgeezer, spadgy, masamune and everyone else.

MMPork is a fantastic game.

My sunday turned out to be more exciting than I wanted,
as my girlfriend and I nearly missed our flight back home due to the Stansted Express not leaving from Liverpool Street and the replacement coaches to Tottenham Hale getting stuck in a demonstration. We took the subway then, but when we arrived at the airport, our gate was already displayed as "closed". To add to the excitement the security guys not only took their time checking our stuff, they also wanted to x-ray my shoes (wtf?). We then ran all the way to the gate and arrived there the very moment the lady started to close the door.

Will those TERRAVISION coaches to Stansted be running next week?! I'll be taking one from Liverpool Street next Sunday.
Glad you had a good time Mr Schatten :D . You remain the most loyal attendee of London Meets.

Thanks to RupertH and his girlfriend for the TV, so that we could play Muchi Muchi Pork on a pool table from a supergun and board in a bin.

Lol!

I do have a picture of that setup, I'll try to upload once I get back to the coast.

That's good old England, Schatten: nothing works, nothing's reliable!

To quote something that once came over the London Underground speakers:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, today there will be... NO SERVICE... Thankyou."

I'm so gutted I failed to turn up on Sunday. I ended up going out with old mates on Saturday night, going to bed at 4am, waking up at 2am, and not ggetting my work done until late evening.

I am lame and pathetic and kicking myself!

Hope the day was awesome nonetheless....

I travelled down from Sheffield on Saturday to attend an emigration show in Esher - as it happended, I was actually only there for 3/4 of an hour and had the rest of the day to bum around London with my girlfriend. If I'd have known in advance it would be like this I could've totally made this meet, presuming I'd be welcome.

As a bit of a shmup fiend herself, she was really looking forward to trying Muchi Muchi Pork but she didn't get to play it in the end. If ever there's another meet-up and Simon's kind enough to bring the Pork along, I'll let her know.

Thanks to Simon for bringing MMP, Del for the Supergun and everybody else for the awesome atmosphere. It was a fantastic day. Unfortunately I didn't get to speak to as many people as I'd have liked, but I did see some amazing displays of skill on Mushi Ultra and Progear. It's a shame I couldn't make Sunday to see Mills abusing Strikers, so I guess I'll just have to practice up and wait for next year.
