Cheers Rupe, I blew it up! Whether or not such feats can be repeated remains to be seen though...Hey good work with the Progear progress Tom.

Home meets are a good idea for a small number of people and a Host with the Most (cabs and new titles). Hosting a meet in a surviving arcade in the centre of a huge city enables meets like London Meet 4 to happen with 32 attendees. 32 wouldn't fit in one person's house.
it's awesome & shocking how much energy and pcb you put in those cabs without thanks from the director of the Arcade. will you in the future find some people (as killercabs forums arcades owners) who have personal cabs and can host such an event ?

I can bring some boards down for the weekend if anyone is interested?
My Shmups include:
Battle Bakraid
Dragon Blaze
Battle Garegga
ESPrade
Ibara
Parodius
UN squadron
Carrier Airwing
Raiden Fighters 1 & 2 (might have an RF2 cart for sale too if anyone wants it straight up on the day no shipping - thinking £70?)
Let me know guys, I'm happy to donate for the weekend. If possible I'd rather just bring a couple rather than loads, so let me know what you'd prefer to see on the day/s.

I could accomodate - I have a couple of cabs and plenty of pcb goodness of most kinds (except fighters)... I think it would be pretty wierd to have a load of people round to play videogames! An arcade seems more natural!DEL wrote:caincan wrote;it's awesome & shocking how much energy and pcb you put in those cabs without thanks from the director of the Arcade. will you in the future find some people (as killercabs forums arcades owners) who have personal cabs and can host such an event ?

this poster is so powerful à la flight of phoenix
(imagine a load of cabs with powersupplys ready to play inside this hulk
)
there are some people who could attend such an event in uk i guess (forum : www.killercabs.com and exists too another arcade collectors UK forum), in germany vossens-arcade could host such a thing, and in france someone too and of course Dave.K in usa !. But yes despite the director's attitude, a real arcade has such a feeling, adrenalin, ambiance, crowd.
(and yes i'm so disappointed to miss this event too, bad dates :/)

Random trivia: Dave_K who you mentioned, has met me in Casino arcade and so has Ayanami.
The Killercabs crew will be down for this meet, as you say.
At the moment we have people guaranteed from Sweden, Germany, the UK (including Wales), maybe France and Italy too.
Maybe its best to leave the actual names of attendees secret until the actual start of the Meet

Anyone else for Garegga?im working on some garegga action at the moment actually so if youd bring that id be happy
If Sven isn't going to get to play it cos the superguns are occupied by games more favoured by the attendees, it might not be worth bringing - let me know if this (or any others I listed) are wanted by anyone.
Thanks!

Awesome poster - great pic too - is it a real plane?
On the subject of venues, although 'host with the most' events must be cool, I like the fact this is in a real working arcade. Where could be more fitting?
And finaly, I'll see if I can bring a nice camera along. The wife does TV editing, so we have a decent camera at home, and plenty of editing stuff. It would be wicked to get a nice video of the event. That said I can't use any of it for shit. Maybe my misses will feel inclined to come along with me and do a spot of 'shooting A-roll' or whatever they call it!

Experimental attack craft (LUN)
Wing Span 144 ft (44 m)
Length 242 ft (73.8 m)
Weight 400 tonnes - loaded
Engine 8 x VK-87
Maximum speed 550 km/h
Range 3000 km
Armament 6 x 80M "Moskit" (LUN only, original military use)
The Lun-class (Russian: "Hen Harrier") (NATO reporting name: "Utka"; Russian: "Duck") ekranoplan Wing-In-Ground effect vehicle was an extremely unusual aircraft designed by Rostislav Evgenievich Alexeev and used by the Soviet & Russian navies from 1987 to sometime in the late '90s. Wing-in-ground-effect aircraft use the extra lift of their large wings when in proximity to the surface (about one to four meters). It is also interesting to note that this aircraft is one of the largest ever built, with a length of 73m, rivaling that of the Hughes H-4 Hercules "Spruce Goose" and many modern jumbo jets.
This Meet needs LUNs

I'm working on Friday Sven, otherwise I'd be happy to meet up - sorry dude.
There's plenty to see though around the Central London area, from Covent Garden to Chinatown, the Trocadero (which has turned into a third rate dilapidated shopping mall from Blade Runner) or The National Gallery or sumthin.

Sven - I start a new job that day. A shame as it would be nice to wander about. I'd advise just wander Soho and the surrounds. Really nice and varied. Greenwhich is nice too. Something a bit different and less frantic...

It's so close now, is it time to make final plans yet? Like what time are we meeting on Friday and where?DEL wrote:Sven - You won't be stuck for ideas all day on friday, the Meet will start on friday evening anyway. Main day is saturday.
Del - where you in Casino last Friday night? I was having a terrible time on Progear, trying to score high and learn the system rather than progress, and then when I looked at the pics of last years meet later I could swear the guy sitting next tom me on Friday was the guy who is you in the pictures...
