SHort and Sweet- have japanese cocktail- needs a new monitor
I have a Jaleco TablePony 25 VH type. It had a 25'' hantarex Polo monitor in it. I live in the USA- and that's not a USA 25'' monitor. Anybody know what size I should buy from my local Wells Gardner?

So exactly why isn't a 25" US monitor the same? I mentioned in the other thread that the tube should be exactly the same dimensions and mounting. Its the frame that will be different, and I assume you would just reuse the existing Pony frame.
If so, then I believe this cabinet for $100 on craigslist would work for you (look like its 25" to me).

As Zakk mentions, tube sizes in Japan are the same in the US, they just choose to measure viewable or edge-to-edge of the glass. So a 29" monitor in Japan is the same as a 27" monitor in the US. I don't know what size monitor usually goes in a Neo-Geo cab, but I'd think it should be 25", and if that is to big for your cocktail, then its probably a 19" in US size terms (as I don't believe anyone makes a 22" or 23" tube).

Well- you are correct in the 25'' monitor going in a Neo Geo cab. So- I've now tried a 19 inch monitor, and a 25'' monitor (both US sizes) and the 19 in is too small, the 25'' is too big. I am going to attempt some kind of custom bracket- this might not be pretty
I've also check different bracket sizes/monitor tube sizes on Wells Gardner.com (under the spec sheets for the monitors) and neither the 19's or the 25'' (lol..hell, did the 13's and 27's while I was there) will fit.

Obtain the manual for the Hantarex, it should contain bracket and fitting hole measurements. Armed with those, go shopping.

lol..Well, I've emailed Billabs (us distro for Wey-Ya), Wei-Ya, Betson, phoned in to Wells Gardner to double check. It really is a fucking oddball size- and i'm seriously thinking that this monitor is going to suck to find.
The monitors in a Q25 or Neo 25 would work- or a Nanao 25"- but my chances of finding one is going to suck.
Worst case scenario- buying a 25" Hantarex Polo off Ebay.Co.Uk and convincing someone to ship it overseas to CA in the USA....>.> eeew.

I looked at your photos again, that big huge thing the bezel won't fit over, it really looks like a 28 to me. :/

lol- I wish they had a standard for measure these stupid things. In america- that is what we call a 25" monitor- meaning that it measures 25" diagonal inside from shadow mask to shadow mask- but overseas- they're sold by thecorner to corner glass to glass measurement it looks like.
And that's the problem. I have an obscure, Japanese Cocktail cabinet that came to america somewhere around 15 years ago...and trying to find a replacement monitor- it's proving very hard.
I've even shot 8 Liners an email about converting a 24'' Craigslist TV for use here
