im already blaming me every day for that, and its was utterly unnesseccairy to throw things against me which make me suffer all the day ; /
I have to watch over my current financial situation, and if i would lend like 200-300e from you i would have to live without ANY money for the rest of the year.
I do know that it is the SECOND time i canceled a meet, but real life is tough

Since I said before that I might come, I should as well post again, to tell that I changed my mind, because of the same reasons.PROMETHEUS wrote:I will unfortunately not be coming to this meet because the trip is too expensive for me to reasonably spend in
See you guys another time ~!
Have fun guys, don't forget to take some photos

!
Its normal for people to drop out of meets due to ca$h concerns. I've seen it five times over.
The turnout will still be strong and I'm looking forward to watching Plasmo on Pink Sweets.

You may as well take out Strikers1945 this friday and put in that secret shump title. i dont need to play it there, ill just 2nd loop it casually at Trocadero.DEL wrote:Its normal for people to drop out of meets due to ca$h concerns. I've seen it five times over.

I played a few games of Espgaluda 2 this evening and discovered the following problems:
1) The joystick was specifically designed for Mike Tyson.
2) I couldn't see my score until the game was over as my score was out of the screen.
3) The cabinet only had three buttons but the game was a four-button game (A: Laser; B: Kakusei; C: Rapid fire or bomb; D: Rapid fire or bomb; depending upon the button configuration you choose). I was forced to sacrifice rapid shot in the end.
4) Button C was between button A and button B.

sven - The titles are now EspGaluda II with Tyson Stick, Pink Sweets with Sanwa Stick, Mush now in monochrome, Progear with good sticks in sit down cab, Strikers 1945 Plus, Strikers 1945 (Trocadero arcade), Raiden III (Las Vegas arcade).
Muchi Muchi Pork will be brought down by Icarus. However these meets are in real working arcades, so on-the-day installation is dependant on John or Bob.
^Already done. Masamune had EspGaluda II installed by Bob (on a rare visit) yesterday. I ok'd it with John on friday. You may as well take out Strikers1945 this friday and put in that secret shump title. i dont need to play it there, ill just 2nd loop it casually at Trocadero.

Thanks for the update Red Hots. I heard from Masamune (Inti) that a Pool table had surfaced. The loss of the Strikers Plus cab is no problem, it was mashed anyway. As long as we've got Pink Sweets, Progear, Esp II and Mush we'll be fine.

YES!
That would be awesome, if there's any chance of it being installed in a cab.
I'll be bringing a laptop laden with mame roms and a nice ps3 virtua stick so we can use that for a bit of additional shmupping, if there's anywhere to plug it in?

This is all very close now, and very exciting. Shame about the drop outs of course.
When did that Pool table appear. I can't imagine how it would fit in down there. Might pop in a night this week to see ESP 2 and how things have changed...
EDIT - anybody down there any evening this week apart from Friday?

In the past, NeoEmpire locals have brought down TVs and consoles and rigged them up in the arcade. So a Supergun setup can be done. This would solve the problem of where to put Muchi Muchi Pork and SephirothFF's Futari Black Label.
So the answer is:- SephirothFF - please bring it down!
Icarus - please bring it down!
Masamune could bring his new 19" TV monitor thing and I'll bring my Supergun.
I'll talk to Masamune and get the TV monitor thing in my car, he only lives round the corner from the arcade.

I'm happy to bring any consoles. My TV's an old back-projector, so that's not coming, but as I live a few tube stops away I'd happily bring systems and even games.DEL wrote:In the past, NeoEmpire locals have brought down TVs and consoles and rigged them up in the arcade. The guy featured in the vid is a strange fighter character (Masamune can tell you more).
I suppose I should add Crazy One Arm Guy in the TROC too:-

Re: !
I've been struggling with that horrible stick on ESPGaluda II, but it's a far cry from the comfort of the sit-down Sanwa goodness that is Pink Sweets. Anyone notice that it gives you four credits for a pound despite saying three when you drop the £1 coin? I've almost walked away from it twice now, only to notice that extra credit sitting there.
I will definitely be in attendance for the meet too.

Hello Rupert, say hi sometime eh?
Could someone just confirm the final dates for the meet so I don't need to trawl the thread?
I was in when Espgaluda 2 was being installed, had a brief chat to Masamune while he was putting some decent scores up.
The pool table has arrived at the detriment to a few missing cabs (they were upstairs looking ready to be shipped away when I got there (leaving a few empty spaces at the back landing - possible filled by now with something else?).
I didn't find Galuda 2 sticks that big a problem (the missing score was a bit wack, but its not like I can play the game yet anyway.)
Loved it, it's mint!
On a side note, I reached Progears penultimate boss (stage 4) and nearly took him out (so close!) on 1 credit, which is a new personal best for me. Somehow god smiled on me and something clicked in my brain and I actually survived Boss 3's desperation attack without the aid of a bomb: I was in Danmaku heaven!
Now why can't I do it at home?
Hope to see you all there!

Hey good work with the Progear progress Tom.
To be honest I am a fussy bastard when it comes to joysticks. Those sticks don't seem to respond to tight precise movements and I tend to move diagonally up left when I'm intending to move left, and don't even get me started on the Quasimodo-like position I have to assume to see the screen...
As a massive ESPGaluda fan I would probably have rather seen it swapped around with Pink Sweets, though that probably wouldn't make DEL too happy.
All selfish whining aside, Galuda II is incredibly brilliant and I appreciate the opportunity to play it at all. Huge thanks to ill6, DEL and Masamune. I'm loving that strange tubular effect when scrolling horizontally, though utilising that second Kakusei mode is going to take some practice.

me too too, Espgaluda 2 is amazing and probably second only to Mush Futari in terms of excellent recent shmups IMO. If swapping with PS isn't a popular choice then maybe it could be taken out of that shit cab for the meet and used in DEL's supergun?Masamune wrote:me too...Rupert H wrote: As a massive ESPGaluda fan I would probably have rather seen it swapped around with Pink Sweets, though that probably wouldn't make DEL too happy.![]()

Esp II has to stay in that shit cab, simply because Bob's no longer around. We're lucky to have been able to get Pink Sweets and Esp II installed in the first place.
PINK SWEETS stays where it is
BLATANT
We should get this Supergun rig up sorted for Futari BL and Muchi Muchi Pork, so everything should be fine.
