Raizing Medal Chains vs DDP Enemy Chains

Post by shoe-sama »

Trap Poll for those who don't bother reading poll question LULZ

anyways I think both systems are pretty crap lol

I'm going to have to say raizing sux more because you basically have to score to survive though lol

chaining/item collection are both no-obligation

I'm more into disliking raizing games though since they penalize you for being alive longer. I mean what the fuck.

I liked the medal collecting in Batrider, it creates a lot of tension and having to dodge bullets while desperately trying to catch medals is very stimulating (and frustrating sometimes).

Memorizing a whole game? Thanks, no.

That´s just Garegga (and Ibara), really. Batrider has it too, but it´s not nearly as extreme, and if you play Bakraid for score (which I don´t) you´ll be suiciding so much you won´t EVER have to care about rank. I somewhat understand how chaining in that game works, but I never pulled it off even on the first boss. The shower of extends afterwards must be very rewarding, though.

Yeah, but I don't understand it. I mean, even daioujou has rank but it isn't absurd to the point where you're forced to die.

Punishing people for progress is like being kicked in the balls for graduating. This is Battle Garegga.

Yep, I didn't read the question either, but I think that's part of the beauty of this poll.

I like medal chaining more than enemy chaining
People I have dealt with successfully: bleem (x2), spazicon, sven666, sparky, iatneH, Dragon1952, kozo, Ghegs

you dont need to suicide in Batrider for rank control, that much.

Chaining whole stage sucks balls.

Chaining medals to make bigger medals appear is obviously better.

Batrider's was fun. Raizing's other games I find offensive to play for score or survival. I vote for Batrider.

Maybe I should try Batrider. I too hate Garegga for the "survival punishment" thing. I'm not a HUGE fan of full stage enemy chaining, but I don't mind it either. And I'd certainly rather screw up my chain, lose half my score, and still be able to play the game like I HADN'T screwed up my chain, than in games like Garegga where screwing up (or not knowing) scoring opportunities hurts your ability to live.

It's my biggest problem with Radiant Silvergun as well. You have to be able to chain fairly well to level your weapons up. Lame.

The poll's kind of inaccurate I mean pretty much all shooters have secrets or boss milking, intentional or not.

Sounds like a greater variety of strategy/planning than simply shoot next enemy in .05 seconds or loose your chain.

dodonpachi tells you straight to your face: 'you're shit. your timing is whack. you can't handle all the bullets. because you're a pussy.'

that's what great game systems are all about

Raizing gets my vote.

You can play it in many different ways (or freestyle).

DoDonPachi, well you can only play it in one style.

If I had to pick which one I like more, it'd be the medal chaining.

Missing a 10,000 point medal really bites, but it's not nearly as bad as dropping a combo midway through a stage in DDP.

Bakraid's combo system is not nearly as punishing as DDP's, but it still can fairly rewarding (esp. when having a combo active also results in you getting 100,000 point medals rather than the 10,000s).
Kinect? KIN NOT.

i don't like bombing pink flamingoes and getting like 500k when everyone else gets 2M

or doing some weird gunblimp suicide thing

if raizing didn't have a zillion extends though I'd like the raizing scoring system better than DDP or Guwange chaining or some other shit I can't seem to figure out

Fanbot's very busy with work and stuff at the moment, and is sorry he can't join in the festivities now, but it looks like people have it covered regardless.

PS: Enemy chaining makes my face turn beet-red.
