Mushihimesama Futari homemade arc. Need help!
Hello, world!
I am pretty much an arcade virgin who has hopelessly lost to the
charms and wonder of what is known as Mushihimesama (PS2).
Lately, I've been reading and watching a lot about Futari -- Really
would like to buy a copy of it and have great fun and stuff.
Thing is that, basically, I don't have an arcade cabinet nor do I really
have enough sufficient space for something like that in my home.
That's why I've been playing with the thought of assembling a mini-
arcade kinda thingie utilising an old, but good CRT computer monitor
and whatever else needed to be bought in order to pull off some
sweet Futari action. The numerous solutions/stacks found on another
topic here makes me think that it's one of those solutions I'd need for
simplicity and with concern to space.
I'm no electronics expert, however, I am a proficient odd-job handy-
man. The less soldering, the better.
Can anyone of you experienced shmuppers please instruct me on
what to get and all that jazz? I'd be much grateful for any help.
Thanks!
/Kris

Futari is PCB only, so you would have to aquire a bare board or kit-mucho $$$
Since your not going the cab route, then you need a supergun (allows you to play arcade games on you TV, or monitor)
Some sticks to play with, or use a console pad converter as most super guns are wired to the Neo Geo DB-15 pinout
Video cable (composite, SCART RGB, S video, component, ect)
This is just a bsic start list, as the potential to blow more money on this hobby is endless.

Welcome!
There is a topic here documenting one member's supergun building process.
It involves a lot of soldering (though very simple soldering), but towards the end of page 2, he links to an eBay auction of a sort of supergun motherboard which I think looks quite decent. You will need to solder a few wires for a power supply and audio/video cable though.
If you are in the US, you will need some kind of encoder to convert the RGB+S video signal into something your television can recognize. As an easy solution for this I recommend JROK, the only thing you will need to solder a few wires from a SCART lead.
One annoying thing about that supergun though is that you must use Sega Genesis/Megadrive pads, so using a better joystick (e.g. Hori Real Arcade Pro) is not as easy as it would be if you built your own supergun from scratch.

yeah those ones that use mega drive pads are the Vogatek ones, there are alot of SG's out there. Get a Sigma is possible, or go to NG.com and ask D-lite (Dean, nice guy) if he has time to build you one. His guns are awesome and compact too which i like.

Thanks for all the replies!
I live in Europe, by the way. I will check out what you guys said
and ponder it all a little.
EDIT: Gah! Feel so lost right now. (;-;)
All I have for it is an unused CRT monitor only. I guess that my
main question for now would be, what do I need to get except for
the Futari PCB-kit?

AV7000 (supergun) +Σ9000TB (joystick) + RGB 15 pin cable + stepdown transformer or something like this.
